  1. I was wondering if there was anyone wanted to be a friend on Fitbit. I track all of my steps, water consumption, food, excersises, sleep, heart rate, flight of stairs and more on my Fitbit app and it's great to start challenges with the people were friends with so we can help motivate each other!
  2. For the people who are doing a 2 week diet what are you about to consume? Also I saw someone else who had an October Facebook group, if I created one would anyone like to join also? We could ask questions and such and help with support, recipes, workouts, etc. please let me know.
  3. Wow I'm so excited to see so many people with the same or near date as me! How is everyone doing so far with diet and excersise? I'm doing what I was told not to do, and weighing daily and I get so frustrated not losing and working out but some days I'll be up 1-2 lbs out of nowhere! Very frustrating
  4. It is going to be your preference and also talk to your doctor about it too. My program is strict- ANY weightgain or any sort and your surgery gets postponed. Im less than 3 weeks away and was told by my surgeon to stop to avoid the muscle weight. I can still do cardio, just no weights.
  5. My doctor also told me to do weights 2-3 days a week and exercise as much as possible now doing Cardio to build muscle to avoid as much loose weight. He did say that it is a rare case for someone to not have the loose skin even if take these courses, but it will be less. I've been lifting and following my diet and everything-- BUT be careful... My weight is starting to go up but im losing inches, muscle weighs more than fat does.. If I cant maintain my lower weight my surgery (oct. 19) will be pushed... So now im being told to stop lifting weights.
  6. I'm nervous for the pre-op diet! Mine is 7 days long. I'm allowed to have chicken/beef broth, crystal light, and sugar free Jello or Popsicle's basically. I work in a high volume hotel at the front desk and were constantly moving and running around, if i go to work without eating Breakfast I usually get sick, Im so scared to go 7 days without eating and having to work too. My doctor keeps saying your body is so large that it is going to sustain itself and not to worry and I'll be fine but its stressful!
  7. Oh!! I found one called "core power" you can get it at Kroger, Meijers and a bunch of other places if you don't have one near you. I think I tried 10+ shakes. Some made me gag with the flavor and some have a gritty texture or a chalky taste and k couldn't stand it. The core is lactose intolerant ( good after surgery), also gluten free and has 26g of Protein. I've have the chocolate and the vanilla. Chocolate tastes just like choc. Milk and the vanilla tastes like French vanilla ice cream--- no joke. I also like the Gatorade power protein. It's a whey based Protein Drink and 20g- so far I only like the chocolate Peanut Butter flavor though.
  8. I drink the Core chocolate or vanilla. It 26g Protein and great. lactose free :-) The milk chocolate tastes exactly like chocolate milk and the vanilla tastes like french vanilla ice cream. There is no chalky or gritty taste at all. I've tried so many different ones before finding this its great.
  9. Just wondering if there is anyone in the area(Michigan) who had a date close to mine or anyone in general for that matter that we could help each other out along the way :-) Its getting to the last few weeks and my nerves are starting to get to me. Yay, I finally found a Protein drink that works for me which I'm stoked about because its been a long 6 mos trying all the different brands and flavors. Is it strange that I made sure to up my life insurance policy just in case something bad happens, for some reason I am only thinking of the bad and not the good that can come out of this! Suggestions? Thanks!
  10. I am a 25 year old lady who lives mainly in Roseville and I am hoping to find someone in the area who would want to be pre-op and post-op buddies! Hopefully someone in the area who could do workouts and help keep each other on track! Is there anyone close by whose interested?
  11. Okay so I was drinking the chocolate and the Pure Protein. It was the only flavor that I liked and the Special K Milk Chocolate french vanilla and Mocha and I liked these ones. My doctor told me to stop because we were not suppose to have caffeine. So you are all still doing the chocolate flavors even though there is caffeine in them?
  12. We were told to start trying out Protein shakes and find one that we liked for our liquid diet and post op surgery, and I did.... However when I met with the doctor and we went over my food journal my flavor happened to have caffeine in it an I didn't like any of the other flavor a or brands that I tried, does anyone have any good flavors or brands they could suggest? I really liked the Special K French vanilla and Milk chocolate ones. It didn't even dawn on me chocolate and caffeine I was just thinking flavors. I've tried the costco brand, numerous powders( I couldn't even swallow the powders they were all awful) ... The eas was horrible and the pure protein I think wasn't great either. They Just really expensive to keep buying the 6 packs to try one and ditch so just curious for opinions! Thanks in advance!!
  13. 14 days!!! So far I was told I had a 7 day liquid diet and I had to have 53grams minimum protein for females, 60 males... And we were allowed sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles, vegetable beef or chicken broth and crystal light
  14. I'm from Michigan. Roseville, having my surgery done in Detroit.
  15. I spoke to the dietician today and she suggested that I tried to shake up my meals and have dinner instead of Breakfast where I eat your going to love this.... A piece of pie and 6oz of chicken and a veggie of my choice for my first meal to jump start my day tomorrow and she wants me to check in with her a few times throughout the day. Yes, I am pre-surgery and my calorie count is very low but for today so you do not think I am starving myself for instance I've posted all the foods here for you I know what it's like to read about someone not getting the right foods Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit and 1/2 whole wheat English muffin Snack: sugar snap peas and a chocolate chip pure Protein bar Lunch: sweet summer kale salad Snack: 1/2 green pepper and 4 celery stalks with a to go Peanut Butter cup Dinner: curried chicken salad Snack: peach and protein shake I had more than my share of calories I think I was just going through a faze for a few days and freaked myself out!!!!
  16. Alright, So I am having some difficulty these last two weeks and I thought it was just a fluke for a few days but I haven't gotten my appetite back and I log my food onto my food journal at the end of each week off of my fitness pal and I just realized that even though I am consuming foods that I am under 600 calories almost every day. I am getting in my extra Protein bar and Protein shake for the additional protein as my doctor suggested but I am just not even hungry to eat. My last appointment where I get my surgery date is September 11, I don't want to go in and tell them that I have lost my appetite completely and them want to push my date back or something to go wrong not only that but I don't want to be unhealthy either. I am eating foods with those 600 calories, but for instance it is A LOT of vegetables such as raw green peppers, celery, sugar snap peas ( I can eat these no issues raw and eat a few and am set for a while). When I drink my Water as I am suppose to do, I am just not hungry to eat any actual food. Any suggestions would help me. Thank you in advance!
