  1. When i start low carb high protein or discontinue coffee I use that Excedrin Migraine. It has enough caffeine in it to help me pass day 3 then I generally don't need it. Are you drinking enough water?
  2. @@JourneyInside, I thought about that. I'll be 1 1/2 months out and by that time will be in my walking boot. I wear compression socks, so I thought I would ask him if they would cause any issues with my ankle if I wore them during the flight. I also plan to get up several times during the flight. It's only a 30 minute flight for me.
  3. Due to the ankle surgery in October I'm going to be non-weight bearing for 2 months. 4 weeks in a cast then 4 weeks in a boot. So I planned my VSG for November, so that I'd still be "off" work. Last night I got to thinking, I picked a flight with "no" bags, etc. I can take a small back pack, but I didn't account that I might still need crutches or my knee scooter. Any one have any ideas about rules for airplanes and crutches?
  4. I'm hoping to make my deposit on Monday, so I can schedule my surgery for November 16. I was totally surprised by the quick communication from Dr. Lopez himself. He has made my decision to switch from WLA to Bariatricpal so much easier. Even the support from members here is so much better than over at gastricsleeve.com Are there any others going around the same time as me?
  5. watchoutinmexico, I'm going to give that a try this morning. That would be amazing if works!! Then I could make my deposit with my new surgeon. Moutaingirl, thank you for all your responses!!
  6. I was surprised Dr. Lopez answered me by e-mail to my questions and my health questionnaire. Unlike that "other" site, where you had no clue who was really looking at it. Now I'm just waiting to find out how I make a deposit to make sure I get my date. It's very reassuring that you have had a great experience with him. Can I be nosey and ask how you have been doing on your journey?
  7. I'm going to Mexico in November (16th). It feels so far away, yet so close. lol
  8. I'm hoping my date of Nov. 16th will be okay. I'll be going to Mexico. I originally was scheduled with a different doctor, but due to negative press in abundance lately I've decided to switch my surgeon. I'm really looking forward to November buddies!! Lisa
  9. I was hoping to find some Kansas people closer to NWK...lol
  10. Mountaingal, I have picked Dr. Lopez as well. I was hoping since it was scheduled for November it wouldn't be too hard to get the date I wanted. Really crossing my fingers.
  11. You look absolutely stunning!!
  12. So after much thought, I'm giving up my deposit at WLA and switching to Bariatric Pal for the gastric sleeve. I was scheduled November 16, 2015, so I'm really hoping I can get that date still since my airfare has already been purchased. It really suck losing that deposit, but knowing I'm going to have a better experience in the long run will ultimately be worth it. I'll just have to work a few extra shifts. I'm really looking forward to some support in this journey. I didn't get much at the other place. It was like I had the plague. I'm 42 (will be 43 Sept. 1) and I have 8 kids total, 4 whom I gave birth too. I'm happily married to a very hard working man. I'm a nurse and love every single minute of it. It took a lot of thought to make this change, so really hoping its a much more positive experience!! Looking forward to meeting some people on the same journey. Lisa
