  1. I'm also on my final few days of the pre-op diet. Drinking some nasty tasting "healthy" soup. Anything is better than the sweet protein shakes though. Sorry about the whining. sigh.... Oh, and today is our wedding anniversary. My husband found a juice bar to take me to this evening. He'll eat a gorgeous salad and pizza while I drink carrots, kale, and cucumber....
  2. Doing my own pedicures again, riding roller coasters without fear of not fitting in the seat, and shopping in the petite department.
  3. Another one for September 8th here. Did all my lab work yesterday and hopefully I'm all set with my hematologist too. Start my liquid diet on Thursday. My surgeon only requires a 5 day full liquid diet.
  4. I'm in Montgomery near Lake Conroe. Having my surgery September 8 in The Woodlands.
  5. I'm also scheduled for the 8th. Did all my pre-op lab work yesterday. Now it seems like everyone and their dog wants to meet me for brunch or dinner. Lol It's just weird timing. Have fun with your count down!
  6. How exciting! And lucky you to have your mom there to help.
  7. Bummer. I missed out on some fun, it seems. I didn't get a seminar, just had my gastroenterologist and surgeon come in my hospital room and give me a one on one.
  8. I start my liquid pre-op on Tuesday and I too am searching for a good protein shake mix. My problem is they all taste way too sweet. My nutritionist gave me samples of bariatric advantage shakes. The banana was OK but the caramel latte was so disgustingly sweet I had to split it out and pour it down the drain. This concerns me because I understand that after surgery, sweet tastes even sweeter and salty tastes saltier. Has anyone tried whipping up their own concoctions with unflavored protein?
  9. Wow! You look great! Thank you for sharing your story. I'm scheduled for September 9. You're an inspiration.
  10. My surgery is set for September 8, and my doctor said just a 5 day liquid diet is all he needs. And he doesn't require the clear liquid either. Interesting how each surgeon requires different diets.
  11. Hi all! I'm new here. I'm expecting to hear from my doctor today with my date. It's either September 1 or September 8. Yay! Thanks for all the posts and encouraging words.
