I am in the sacramento area. It is such a pain to even get in to see the doctor for a consultation. They keep saying that HN has to send an authorization code to them. My clinic states that HN does not need to as they are in their Network and i'm in the middle going back and forth trying to hurry things along. Very unorganized and no one seems to know what they're doing. I'm frustrated. Next open enrollment probably changing plans.

Please tell me if anyone has used Health Net Blue and Gold. It is very specific but need to know if anyone has used them and how difficult or easy was it? Thank you

I would go sit in the office and state that I need this letter and will patiently wait to get one or what time should I return to pick it up?

Should one start taking Biotin before surgery?

maybe it was the tube from having in your throat that cuases that burning? I haven't had my surgery but from previous operations I recall the similar feeling.

God bless you with your honesty. You are so on point with many things you said describe myself. I am almost there with the end of my 6 mo strech. I meet the Surgeon on Monday. I related to so many things you mentioned. I can only say that when you go to a seminar after attending for Bariatric you realize you either in it, or against it. I'm wanting to be on the loser bench with all these wonderful people I have learned from. I hope to meet you there one day. For now, you continue being strong and focused on the end result.

yay! appt went great I'm now offically referred to surgeon. I sat in the parking lot before my appt and prayed that if it was in God's will for me to have this that I be referred. Prayers answered thank you all that prayed with me. i'm overjoyed.

I am going to Dr. office appt that I have been waiting for 6 months for.....! Prayers please that I get referral to Surgeon. i really struggled with this decision for years and now I know this would be the best thing for me (sleeve) to get to help me get my weight down. I want to ride a bike, go walking, play with my grandkids. I want this so bad! Any prayers would be so appreciated. Thank you

i too had my Gallbladder removed in 2014 and meet for my referral to surgeon tomorrow. I am hoping all goes well. I suffer from Gerd bad. I too have IBS but again, I will take some of these issues and deal with them. I hear to have bypass if you suffer Gerd; but really I don't know I want the sleeve preferrably. Hope the surgeon will answer my questions about that.

Is it true that one procedure over the other causes Gerd? I have Gerd but so confused because some don't ever mention having it after sleeve and that is what I was hoping for.

Hi there, i'm hoping to be a March sleever, i am meeting back with my referring dr. on the 28th of Jan. I have since completed my 6 mo waiting period thru Health Net. I'm hoping that with whatever psych exam and any other necessary steps that I can complete in Feb? Not sure how soon I would be scheduled. But i'm so anxious. I hope you both have a wonderful sucessful surgery. I hope to be right after.

i meet with my Internal Medicine Dr. on the 28th of Jan and hoping to get referred to surgeon at that time. My question is after reading everyone's posts. I was never instructed to lose any specific weight nor was i monitored to be weighed in all the time. I guess i'm confused to what is required of me. I just saw a Nutricianist and physical therapy took a few information seminars and that was it. I guess each insurance requirements are different. It has been 6 months. I don't really know what to expect now? any ideas?

I live near Sacramento and my Dr told me he would refer me to the appropriate surgeon after I completed Dignity Healths' requirement which was physical therapy 2 sessions to see if I will be able to workout, nutrician class, completed, doing either weight watchers or myfitness pal, i do track on my fitness pal and to attend a seminar on barriatric surgery which i did at the Methodist location. I have no clue who the surgeon would be although they ususally from the woodland office refer to Dr. Laura Machado but she does not take my plan yet. So, with that all said. I just wonder why I had to go through this whole 6 month ordeal? It started in July and well, I will be meeting back on Jan 28th? i already have Sleep anpea and a 40 Bmi, a bad knee so he said I qualified however needed to wait before he referred?

i'm in Pre Op stage. No surgery date yet. I am in the 6 month pre op phase. On month 5 going to Dr. Jan 28th to get referred to surgeon. I am going sleeve 100%. My husbands daughter had the sleeve in Oct 2014 and has successfully lost 110.lbs. I have been heavy for 15 years. i'm dreading this Christmas season because i'm going in it feeling dumpy. I just keep looking at my 2016 year as a begining of my life. I need this as a tool to help me. i have a machine for my apnea and know this would help me rid of this machince perhaps. I have dreams people that I will be comfortably be able to walk distances, do things like swim with out shame. I am tired of standing behind my family in pictures. I have tried every diet in the book. I studied this whole sleeve thing and yes i'd be lying to say i'm not nervous because i am. Why? i'm afraid of losing my comfort zone, who I am. But my fear is going to be put aside because i want for myself is much stronger I am 47 now I have adult children and 3 grandbabies that I need to be around for. God gave me this body that I abused for years and I want to take control of it and get it back again. Just looking forward to this journey.....

how did it go with Health Net Blue Gold? I currently have them as well and the surgeon that I was told I would be referred to stated that Health Net would not use her so i'm trying to find out who I would see I guess. Wondering how good this insurance is.....you didn't have any problems? i live near Sacramento

How exciting! I get so motivated reading these success stories. i am still in the pre op stages of my 6 month wait. I don't see the doctor until Jan 28th....UGH. seems like forever away. But i'm happy to stay focused and read these amazing stories.
