thank you all for your support, I felt much better today and decided to stay off the scales for two weeks. I have a fill scheduled for the 9th and I went back to more Protein and fluids today and felt much better. I also started back on documentng what I eat which is very helpful. I think I was slidng into a carb world again which wasn making me feel more hungry and not feeling well. Today I went to the gym and felt so much better after the treadmill. Love this site for the support we get....this transition is hard. This time last year though I weight 40 lbs more than I do now and was just starting the journey towards the lapband....so I am moving on!!!:smile2: sharon

welcome back Fenton, it sounds like your time away was a needed gathering of thoughts and organizing some feelings. That's never a waste of time. What we did find out is that we all need each other in some quirky way. The nice thing about life is that there is always tomorrow. Glas to see your back and glad you have a fill.

WhatI'm finding lateuly that I am tighter sometimes than others...Does anyone else have this? I haven't lost any hair yet. I make sure I get 84 gms Protein a day which I think helps. I also love baby food (stage 3  and get their meats to eat which helps with Iron intake. I make sure I take my Vitamins daily and the Calcium. I haven't thought to get my iron checked but it might be a good idea. do find I have periods of exhaustion that are unexplinable. Except for being 58 years old....hahahahaha sharon:)

Well it was very hot humid and sticky today in Connecticut....I think I'm looking forward to winter (I know i'll be sorry I said that). Grandbaby gained one lb in a week....so cute....and so soft. Today was our 39th wedding anniversary...can't believe its been that long. I have found that I'm getting hungry again yet I can't really eat a lot. I'm working out and yet my weight is also at a plateau. My next visit is in October but I'm not sure if I'll get a fill. I think we've all done spectacular as we have reached our 6 month mark. I don't care how long it takes as long as I lose it. Miss Fenton....I guess we lost him for good. I wish him well... thanks for all the good wishes on our new grandbaby... sharon:)

Congratulations special K..a load off of your mind I'm sure. Test taking is such a strain for everyone. I've had students who have physically gotten ill when needing to be validated!!! Harley love the tatoo!!! My daughter has quite a few (much to her father's dismay) but I always applauded her tasteful choices along with her "balls" to get them....I know if I was younger I'd have a few .... sharon:)

Why we want Fenton back: 1. We need some testosterone to help offset all the estrogen from us lady bandsters! 2. We want to hear about life in the big city --NYC! 3. We want to be able to celebrate with him when he changes his ticker to say -100 lbs lost! 4. We want to know how his new book writing is coming along. 5. I too have had a history or over doing it and be:sad:ing involved with too much. I made a decision after getting the band to remove myself from all boards and committees and declared my life "all about me"...although our new grandson born 8/31 is changing that a bit. Don't feel guilty just cut yourself down to the minimum of what is important to YOU....things happen for a reason I truly believe it....

Special K I'm sorry for your loss. As long as I have been a nurse I can say death is never an easy emotion to process. Especially working in the ED for years in a trauma center. Your move on but never forget....it is tiring at times. I am so glad you and your mom were able to be there. Fenton, what the hell is the matter with you!!! I think you need a fill before you go to Paris. I doubt that you will have issues....call the damn doctor and get yourself in there sooner....You are just procrastinating. We can all get into a plane and fly there to hold your hand or drive you to your appointment if you need us to....You know you can do this.....the band is there for a reason...and that is to get filled!!!!! I think were all doing great. I'm at 6.5 cc in my 10 cc band...and I am so happy not to be hungry. I'm down 40 lbs now and am enjoying the luxury of being able to say no. I went into a buffet with mom in Florida and never even thought to go to the dessert bar. Classes start soon with my new nurses coming in and another year begins..... I am also having issues with clothing and...sorry Fenton...bras, bras, bras....the girls are shrinking and the bras are too big. That's something you really can't just let "hang" on you like a top or pants.... Lots of good sales these days though and I am taking advantage. Brought a bunch of old clothes to the shelter and it was great to pack them away.... Welcom Betty to our very active and sometimes whiney group....we are all with our own challenges...... I am going to the Antiques Roadshow that has come to Connecticut tomorrow. Actually I am the medical personnel for the event and get the luxury of going to the event free. I kinda pick and choose the events I am interested in. Enjoy what is supposed to be a great weekend... sharon:)

Okay, well first of all I'm trying to muster up some sympathy that poor Fenton is going to be in Paris and your challenge is a routine!!! Ok all together now "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh". I think your smart not to get a fill before going out of the country. Although I think the french invented the band didn't they?? Special K good luck with your exam. You'll do just fine I'm sure, especially since you've been doing the job. I remember when I had to take the nursing boards I was so nervous...sometimes studying at the last minute is a good thing as you retain more I think. Just got back from Florida checking on my mother. Tough to keep the surgery from her. She is in the "lets go to the buffet" stage of life. What a waste of money for me!! She was just so impressed with our little I was eating. But the secret remains!!! Have a good day everyone. Rain, rain rain today.....

adenosine cardiolite test?
Charlene, I'm an old ER nurse and they use adenosine to chemically cardiovert people when they go into atrial fibrillation. I was supposed to have the same test because my knees are bad but when I heard they were giving this drug (a low dose) I asked if I could do the treadmill...and I did. So its up to you.... sharon;)

congratulations special K on arriving at a new threshold.... congratulations on passing your kidney stone...I know you probably thought it was a boulder but as you know its only the size of a grain of sand most of the time.....now drink drink drink (Water that is) I have been doing "ok" at a standstill although have been eating the right things. Debating on whether I get more of a fill this week. I have good restriction but do have times I can take in more than I think I should. Don't know if its because I've waited too long to eat or I'm just really hungry..... up to 35lbs now....so I'm happy...slow and steady.... enjoy the weekend guys (or whats left of it) sharon:)

March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD
Fenton, thought this would be good to repeat: Don't Quit When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down, And you feel like the biggest failure in town. When you want to give up just because you gave in and forget all about being healthy and thin. So What! You went over your points a bit, It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit! It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change. It's learning the skills to get back in your range. It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now. You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow." It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal. You're still gonna make it, just stay in control. To stumble and fall is not a disgrace, if you summon the will to get back in the race. But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip, just throw in the towel and continue to slip. They learn too late when the damage is done, that the race wasn't over...they still could have won. Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow, but facing each challenge will help you grow. Success is failure turned inside out, the silver tint in a cloud of doubt. When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit, If you bite it, you write it....Just don't you quit!

welcome back "charlie"....we missed you hey don't beat yourself up over 4000 calories a day...heck my guess is you could do that in one meal prior to the band. I do think it is time to consider getting restriction though...it would probably help some. We all are human, which is more important. Hey tell us about the trip? All you talked about it the food!!!! Come on you must tell....we were all so sad without you....

Allergan says I don't qualify for surgery ... WTF?
they don't make the decision....go to the surgeon and get a consult...it is my understanding that you need a BMI of 40 without comorbidities and 35 with them...unless your 16 years old it would seem that you would qualify...good luck

UUUGGGGGHHHHHH!!!! Non supportive family
Listen, this is all about you...not anyone else. I didn't tell my mother and won't. I told my sister and brother and some people at work. Of course the skinny ones said "have you tried weight watchers?" duh.....of course I didn't and thank you for telling me about it. This isn't an easy fix, it takes willpower to manager and a huge decision to get it done. It is a tool to assist with making the right choices because your not famished all the time. I've had mine for 4 months and lost 32 lbs....not magic....Don't mention it again to them....they'll get over it....you are making the right choice.... sharon;)

that is such a funny story....when I had a beeper at the hospital I constantly had it fall into the toilet....good luck with the new one!! I'm at a standstill with my weight, but keep doing the right things knowing it will come off eventually.....much cooler in Connecticut today will be taking a walk for sure. Have a great weekend.
