  1. @@rln52 Recovery is going very well for me. One thing I would suggest is using lots of pillows to kind of tuck around your sides to help support your belly in bed. I'm a side sleeper and is very difficult. My sister brought two squeeshy pillows with the little beads in them. They are wonderful because they kind mold to you. Get your fluids in and walk, walk, walk.
  2. Was sleeved Wednesday August 5th and everything went great. My surgeon was very pleased with my pre surgery weight loss and said it definitely helped surgery go well. The first few days after surgery were tough but really doing better today. Absolutely no regrets!! For those of you on pre-op diet, my advice is to follow it to the letter. It WILL help with surgery and healing.
  3. Hi. I'm 2 days post op and trying to get my liquid protein in and it says stop as soon as you feel full. I don't really feel full. Don't really feel anything. Is that normal. Just taking small sips and sticking to 4 oz at a time as instructed by my NUT.
  4. I'm August 5th. Only 3 days to go! Excited and getting a little nervous!
  5. Only 3 more days! Getting nervous!
  6. Just finished week 1 of pre-op and I'm down 12 lbs! It's really hard but worth it! And thankfully, I too have a great family support system. My husband is the best!
  7. My insurance required 3 months of a doctor led program with also seeing a fitness specialist and psychologist. It felt like six months! lol! But it was worth it...it gave me time to adjust to my decision and lose a little weight before surgery. And my insurance approved me without any problems.
  8. @@Nickkibear24 So sorry about the lack of support from your family. That's really hard Just remember you're doing this for you, not them! Try and find a local support group to rely on or a good friend that is supportive. I'm very lucky that for the most part my family is 100% supportive; only had a couple of nay-sayers. And I'm just on my pre-op diet, but know what's ahead, I think if anyone says "you're taking the easy way out", I think I'll punch them in the face! Lol! Keep you chin up and stay on these boards. I've already found them very helpful.
  9. Good job!! Keep doing what you're doing and you'll keep getting what you're getting!
  10. Wish I could have cream soup. I can only have chicken broth with plain Protein powder added in. And would love some lean protein with my veggies. Oh well, it is what it is and it's only temporary.
  11. @@rln52 And drinking lots and lots of Water...
  12. @@rln52 I'm on 4 Protein powder "meals" a day and six servings a day of any of the following: unsweetened applesauce, sf Jello, sf pudding, oatmeal, ff sf yogurt, raw or cooked veggies.
  13. I'm on day 6 of the pre-op diet and so far I haven't cheated. On day three I really really wanted to; was hungry, grumpy and had a bad headache. I'm really determined not to cheat even though it probably wouldn't hurt anything. And I've lost almost 11 pounds so that's enough to make me want stick to it. It really hasn't been that bad.
  14. If you've started your pre-op, how are you doing? I'm on day 6 and off to a good start....have lost 10.6 lbs! yay! It's really not that bad to follow.
  15. I'm scheduled for August 5th as well. Super excited! Good luck to you! and all the others!
  16. My surgery date is August 5th also! I'm so excited. I can't wait; want this two week prep to be over!
  17. I'm on day 3 of my two week preop and I'm doing pretty good with it. I don't mind the
  18. @@Hipigrl Awesome! Good to hear. You're doing great!
  19. @ana92212 Oh my gosh! You must be super woman! Good for you. Congratulations on your weight loss and your new baby!
  20. Thank everyone! I appreciate the feedback. Good luck to you to @@mizzlane13
  21. My surgery is scheduled for August 5th. yay! Just wondering about how long most people were out of work. My surgeon is saying 2 to 4 weeks? What's the average?
  22. Sorry @@Babbs, I thought your comment was for me. Still learning how to navigate the boards. Lol!
  23. Thank you Babbs! I'm really excited to continue this journey (I feel like I started the moment in walked in my surgeon's office). I've always been a heavy girl, but decided it was time to do something about it. Its about how I want to live the rest of my life! I'm looking forward to eating like a "skinny" person. I know its going to be tough at times but I have a great support system and am so glad I found this website.
