Firdt things first...praise God that you found it BEFORE surgery. You don't know, it could have killed you if you didn't know about it. People have died from absessed teeth. You are going to keep doing well, because you know this is the most imortant thing you have ever sone for yourself. Prayers are with you.

Psycho Eval
Vee, I mentioned that my mom has Manic Depression, OCD and so many other things and they let me pass with just a sentence about how I have to eat breakfast and lunch. Not just wait until dinner and make bad on the run choices. Still working on it. She never even commented about my mom's problems.

Thought I was Dying
My word! Are they afraid of law suites? It seems like maybe you could go to the medical board or something if he is a quack.

Thought I was Dying
Oh you poor thing. I am sorry to hear all that. Have you thought about going to another doctor?

What are friends for?
My new friend Andrea and I have started walking at least three miles everyday. She is holding me to it quite well. Sometimes she would get out of work late and complain they didn't have a dishwasher at the catering company she worked for. I said "well, if you need help, I can do it until a week before surgery". Since I haven't done any "real work" in a long time guess what? IT IS KICKING MY BUTTTT!!!! I am so sore in my back that I can hardly walk. I can't lift my left leg to walk up stairs. I can say though that I am very happy to have lost 6 lbs so far due to my dear friend Andrea.

Tricare: APPROVED!!!!
Hi Dana, I have Tricare North and I am using Dr. Bautista in Richmond, VA. I am very sad that this has taken me so long. My PCM, Tricare, other specialist and myself have been great about timing. The problem is my surgeon is so busy it takes 10 weeks from approval to surgery date. I started the journey in December and I am going to be banded on May 29th. I keep telling myself that he will have just that much more experience by the time he does me.:tongue_smilie: I hope yours is much quicker. Some people have stated that they have only had to wait a short time.

I want to join!
Congrats Michelle! Tickerfactory.com is where you go to make your ticker. How much have you lost pre and post?

I just don't get it!
I have told myself that I would start walking 3 miles a day or more until my surgery date (except on Sundays). I will have walked 120 miles just at 3 miles per day. Some days I have walked as much as eight. I lost 6 lbs, and have put 4 back on as of this morning. I understand it might be muscle and the loss was probably water. I also know to stay off of the scales, but I just have the hardest time with that. Do I want to continue walking? Will my body be too used to it by the time I have surgery that it won't help me lose? I am pretty sure my heart and lungs will love me for it. I can now get to my 2nd floor apartment and not feel like passing out. I am actually out walking my friend that weighs 50 lbs less than me. I am sure I will keep going, because I love to set goals and then reach them. Especially if I couldn't really see the incentive and still accomplished it. That is straight will power. Something I haven't had in a while!

Was banded Wed 4/16/08!!!!!!!!
Best wishes, speedy recover and lots of weight loss. Hang in there. You survived and now make it worth the trip! I get banded next month, so it is nice to hear how some others are doing. Not all a bed of roses like I had hoped. Take care.

First Seminar Tomorrow @ 6:30pm
Hi Kat, It will have taken me 6 months by the time I have surgery on May 29th. I was so sad and frustrated yesterday, because in everything I read, people said it took them two-six weeks. I have everything done. I had it ALL done in a matter of two weeks, but my doctor is over booked. He has me waiting another 10 weeks after my approval. I rationalize this by saying my doctor does so many I should be in good hands. I have been fat for 15 years, so what is another 10 weeks...5 now. I think there are so many variables that no one can tell you what to expect. Good luck and God speed.

Banded
You are too funny. I am very glad you did well with it. It does put my mind at ease a little. I am like you. I work through almost any pain. Thank you for letting me know. Speedy recovery.

Tricare: APPROVED!!!!
AZ Chick. Remember like Mama said, there are different regions for Tricare. Her and I are in the North region, so just make sure you don't just stay idle thinking that everything is fine. Stay on top of them. Good luck.

Banded
Erin, Sorry to hear that. I hope you are able to have the band put back on. Is this something your ins. will take care of for you? Were you in a lot of pain? Are you feeling better now? I haven't been banded yet, but your situation is the only real one that bothers me enough to think twice about having it. The 80 lbs aren't good, but think how much you are still down and have a chance to re-do. Good luck!

I am scheduled for May
Thank you for the warm welcome. I am sure this will give me lots of time to watch how the pros are doing before my big day.

I am scheduled for May
Hey Amsderb, How long from the time you were approved until your surgery? I had to wait 10 weeks.

I am scheduled for May
I will be the late BLOOMER if you will. Mine is the 29th of May in Richmond, VA.

Tricare: APPROVED!!!!
I was told the same thing. They will cover it they said, if it is billed as a doctors visit that just happened to be about something else and nutrition was discussed. Please...just say "no" and leave it at that.lol Luckily that is the least expensive thing we could have to pay for. In Richmond it is like $45 for your first visit. If they know ahead of time that your ins. doesn't pay it is half of that for return visits. Good luck!

BC/BS ILL... Sleep Apenea, High Colesterol, 38 BMI
Well, I can't say that I know about your ins., but I do know about the CPAP and yes, it is odd and weird to get used to, but I love how I feel after I get up now...hours earlier to boot. My husband says it is easier to sleep with me (it is quiet and I wasn't)lol. I was told that the machine runs around $1200. I am very blessed to have Tricare. I hope your appeal goes through without a hitch.
