  1. I am 5 weeks out today and my carbs have been around 30g a day. My nut wants me at 60-80g a day. I'm a little scared but I want to be successful long term and have a sustainable diet. I've read so much about people not eating bread, rice, cereal, etc but my plan calls for 2 servings of grains per day. Do any of y'all eat grains and did you start this soon out?
  2. I used a small medicine cup...1 oz and tried to drink 1 every 10-15 minutes. By day 4, it was so much easier. Hang in there!
  3. I had robotic surgery and everything went great. The surgeon controls everything so it's not just like they send a robot in. I also was outpatient. In and out in 8 hours.
  4. I had optimum nutrition protein powder, syntrax nectar protein sample pack, and crystal light. Also, low sodium v-8.
  5. I used Capital Surgeons in Austin with Dr.Marquez. She was great, I loved her!
  6. I was outpatient. Surgery at 7, left at 3.
  7. That's awesome. Congrats!
  8. They usually occur in the lower legs accompanied by swelling, redness, and tenderness.
  9. I was sleeved June 29th and down 28 pounds. Only 100 more to go...lol I'm still on soft foods, everything is sitting well except tuna. Ugh, that was awful and to top it off my 5 year old son asked me why I was eating cat food?!
  10. Hey dwood, just wondering how much you're able to eat now that you're on more solid foods?
  11. I found the website bariatricfoodie.Com that has a lot of recipes and family friendly ones, too!
  12. Oh goodness. I know the first 3 days or so I just felt really blah and was hoping I had done the right thing. I hated sipping . I used a 1 oz medicine cup and tried to get at least 4-6 ounces an hour. I'm now only 17 days out and on pureed but I feel just about normal. Hang in there!
  13. Congratulations! That's awesome..
  14. I agree with Shustar. I never had actual pain just discomfort.
  15. I plan on making turkey meatballs and some mini turkey meatloaf (using a muffin pan) and freezing them for quick meals. Also, deli meat is high in protein and omelets. I'm still searching for ideas, too.
  16. Gas-x strips are great and of course walk, walk, walk! I felt soooo much better by day 5.
  17. @vsgann We're talking about being able to eat too much now at a couple of weeks out. Not worried about starving or getting in veggies at this point. You might wanna read the whole thread.
  18. Lol....and I just thought I was through worrying after I made it through the surgery!
  19. I worry about this too. I'm also 2 weeks out and on purees. I can eat 4 ounces fairly easily. Will it change when switching to more solid foods?
  20. I had surgery at 7am, discharged at 3. Leak test done in OR. So glad I didn't have to spend the night.
  21. Thanks everyone for the great advice
  22. Hi, I'm new here and was recently sleeved on June 30th. I'm trying to plan ahead and am wondering if anyone has tried any sleeve cookbooks?
