All these clothes
I did then same!! I have LOTS of clothing that I'll be able to wear as I drop weight. My weight has fluctuated so much in the last 10 years. I sorted by size, and thinned out the stuff I didn't think I'd wear. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

My Journey on youtube
Blew up? Lol.. That really stinks. I only have a desktop, and the lighting in there sucks, so I don't want to bother with just getting a web cam. It will be a while, so iPhone videos it is for a while!

My Journey on youtube
Just my iPhone for now, so the video quality isn't great. For now, I just try to record with lots of natural light when I can. I'd like to eventually get a laptop with a built in camera, but since I was self pay, no splurges in the budget for a while!

I don't know about great, lol, but my channel is Trisha's Sleeve Story. I'm only 2.5 weeks post op, but I've been enjoying making videos. I look forward to looking back at how far I've come. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5VTXLqKa3xU

Having Surgery Young
I'm 32, and am so happy I had the surgery now. I feel "young," just because so many in this forum are 20-30 years my senior. The resounding feeling seems to be, "I wish I had done it sooner," so good for you!! ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Edamame pasta
I bought this, and had a tiny taste when my husband had it. Not bad at all!!! I like spaghetti squash, but it's just not the same as chewing Pasta. I'm looking forward to having this in my later stages to get my pasta fix on occasion. Edamame is super good for you! ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Your surgeon's post-op liquid/food phases
My surgeon's plan allows real food very early on. I was having cottage cheese and yogurt on day 3. He's been doing it this way for years with no problems. Here is what the plan looks like: I also did a YouTube video describing my first few weeks, since it is SO different from most of the plans I see. No clear or full liquid phase at all once I was discharged. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KWmDNXTFBtw ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Salad
I've never craved veggies in my life, and now I can't wait until I can eat them! I'm 2.5 weeks post op, and I get to add veggies back in at 4 weeks (for soft veggies, 6 weeks for raw). My plan allows real food very early on, but pretty much exclusively high Protein foods, like cheese and meats. I want those veggies! ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

Im scared to over sip on my first day
I WISH I had sipped more in the hospital, just to get used to it. I was on IV fluids, so I knew I couldn't get dehydrated. Then when I was discharged, I was definitely not prepared to sip as much as I needed to get my fluids in. ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

My Journey on youtube
Found and followed you! Mind if I piggyback and share my channel as well? I'm 2.5 weeks post op. And started my videos during my pre-op diet. If this link doesn't work, my channel is called "Trisha's Sleeve Story." https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5VTXLqKa3xU

How much are you able to eat 1 month out?
I've lost just over 21 pounds so far. My 14 month old weighs 22 pounds. I'm like, holy crap, I lost a whole baby! Lol ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

ALMOST ONE MONTH IN...
I downloaded an app called "next bite" to help me slow down when I ate. It is a timer that goes off at the interval you choose. I set it for one minute, and chew my small bites for about 30 seconds, and then I wait for the timer. It has REALLY helped! I'm using it less and less, because it's becoming a habit now, but I still set a timer every time I eat so I can make sure it's taking me 15-30 minutes (depending on portion size) to eat my meals. If I'm eating too fast, I take a break, and start again slower. I'm only 2.5 weeks out, but this has been working really well for me so far. Good luck!! ~*~ Find me on YouTube: Trisha's Sleeve Story ~*~

My story, via YouTube :)
Just testing out my new ticker to see if it works. Figured my own post was the best place to try it. Dang it. Lol

What will I need?
I found quite a few videos on YouTube that went over their hospital bag packing lists. I found them very helpful because they explained what they packed, and what they actually used. I found them so helpful, in fact, that I made my own video. My YouTube channel is "Trisha's Sleeve Story," but you can just search VSG hospital bag and you'll get quite a few results.

does anyone else have long stages?
I've been on puréed and some soft foods since day three.

Protein powder - Smaller scoop?
I'm actually looking for something I can add to my food- yogurt, Soups, etc. that's why I want a small scoop, because my portion size is so small. I tried putting some in refried Beans, and the amount I needed to add to get a decent amount of Protein was equal to the potion of my beans! I'm going to try one of the ones listed that has 25 or so grams of protein per scoop. At least then I can add 12+ grams of protein using half a scoop.
-
Protein powder - Smaller scoop?
Mine is 100% whey as well... Not sure why it has so much less protein. What brand do you use? That's exactly what I'm trying to do

Protein powder - Smaller scoop?
I searched the forum, and despite a ton of posts requesting Protein powder recommendations, I couldn't find this topic.... So, can anyone suggest a Protein Powder (preferably unflavored) that gives a good amount of protein but doesn't require a big scoop? I currently have Jarrow, and the scoops size is about 1/4 cup for 18 G protein. That is a lot of bulk to add when my meals are so small (almost two weeks out). I can use half a scoop, but then the amount of protein added seems really small. So I guess I'm looking for either a powder with a decent amount of protein with a small scoop, or a powder with a much larger amount of protein per scoop, so I can halve the scoop and still get a good protein punch. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I'm looking for feedback on how your surgeon was chosen
Honestly.... I went with the least expensive all inclusive surgeon I could find who practiced at a Bariatric Center of Excellence. Don't get me wrong, once I found him, I did my research, and would have changed my mind if any red flags appeared, but they didn't. I'm self pay, and was willing to go out of state, but not out of country. I had a good experience

Not loosing weight! Help!
Yes!!! I get that it can be frustrating to watch people lose 10, 15, 20 pounds in a week, but you can't compare your journey to anyone else. Someone with a BMI of 55 will likely have a faster initial loss than someone with a BMI of 40. Those who lost a bunch on the pre-op diet may lose less their first week post op because that first "easy" 10 pounds or so of Water weight is gone. Someone with a smooth recovery who gets moving early on may lose at a faster pace than someone dealing with constant pain and nausea for the first week. We need to give ourselves a break, do our best and Celebrate every pound that gets us closer to our new, healthier life.

Any August 31st Sleevers?
29 lbs since the 31st? Or including pre-op? If that's not including pre-op, that's insane!! Either way, congrats to you!

Calories per day?
I'm not supposed to take them until 4 weeks out. I've got a whole schedule worked out so calcium and iron don't conflict and I'm never taking too many at once.
