  1. I'm going through it, too. I'm 8 daysb post op and haven't gone at all. I feel fine but can't comprehend no BM for such a long period of time. Took 2 doses of Miralax in the last 4 days but nothing. I also started Benefiber but nothing works. :-( I'll check with my dr today. To quote a good friend's child, "Daddy I wanna go pooh!"
  2. This happened to me 5 days post op. I felt so hungry and although I was sipping consistently, I was hungry. I don't have issues with acid reflux. I basically took a nap to avoid the feeling. I realized that I wasn't getting much Protein and did my best with my Protein powder (yuck). A few days later, when a Protein shake was okay (after the Clear liquids phase), I had one and felt full the entire day. My struggle is still to get enough protein b/c when I feel full, I'm not interested in continuing to sip.
  3. My surgery was outpatient just last week. The pain was nowhere near as bad as I anticipated. That was literally one of the first thoughts I had when I woke up. It wasn't pain-free but bearable. I had to start liquids immediately (ice chips) and walk around the recovery area. Once I did that and burped, I was discharged (maybe two hours after surgery). From that day to now, I have not vomited. The gas pains have been rough at times but didn't last long. I feel like I can get a nice amount of liquid down these days but Protein has been an issue. My hair has been shedding a lot yesterday (scary) and a little today but I managed to finally get more protein today. Hopefully that'll continue and I can minimize hair shedding. Happy I did this as an outpatient though because being home helped and my mom is really spoiling me these days!
  4. I'm almost a week post op.Yesterday was a tough day and I was extremely hungry. My stomach growled so much and it wasn't acid reflux. I was miserable. I took naps, watched movies, etc. in an effort to ignore it. Ultimately, I had Carnation Breakfast Essentials with non dairy cashew milk and called it a day. I'm okay today but concerned that the feeling will come again. Has anyone dealt with this? Are there any suggestions on how to handle? My meal plan, per my surgeon is: Week 1: Clear liquids, Week 2: Full liquids, Week 3: Puree to Soft Diet w/ lean meats, & Week 4: Soft to Regular Diet. And like so many others, I never need to smell broth again!
