  1. Hi New. I've lost 15lbs since surgery a week ago. I am not doing anything other than walk as much as I can at home than drinking a total of 64-70 oz of liquids a day. Out of the liquid intake, 70 grms are protein. I am blessed to be able to tolerated clear water, Isopure and premiere protein. Sometimes Chicken broth hits the spot. Good luck and don't rush it. Remember there will be stalls along the way but right now you have to give your body time to adjust.
  2. 209 today. Sorry, a little late.
  3. Likewise Brenda.
  4. I changed medical group (therefore yes, dr too). I still have blue cross but switched my medical plan from St Jude to Bright. I did have to start from scratch though, dr visits, documented nutrition classes, everything!
  5. I'm scheduled for tomorrow as well. Good luck in your journey, have faith all will be well.
  6. Yeah me too. I lost all my weight with the band and did good 5 yrs until it slipped. I am so afraid of side effects that I know that alone will keep me on check. My only concern is malnutrition when old age. I don't know why I keep thinking when I really old (if I get to that age) will I have the proper nutrition, supplements etc but then I think why am I worrying about that know.... It'll all be fine. Lol
  7. @@Niki15 I guess as ready as I can be. I'm still nervous, still ask myself if I really want to do this.... Yet still think it's my best option. Other days I'm excited and can't wait. I haven't lost much but then again I've cheated. I'm not pigging out but have been eating normal food just smaller portions. I guess because I wasn't asked to be on a liquid diet, it was more a suggestion from the doc. I did it steady 1 week and only lost 4lbs on 2 protein shakes and 1 lean cuisine meal a day and then I stopped. I will start again today through Sunday and then an all liquid day Monday. I don't really worry because I did the same thing when I was banded and did great afterwards keeping with health foods. I am glad you are doing great, keep up the great work. Knowing how much you lost makes me wish I would have stuck by it. So how are you, are you ready?
  8. Congratulations everyone on your upcoming dates.... It's getting real! Mine is in 4 days, yikes!
  9. I'm in Whittier, surgery in 5 days. Can't wait.
  10. My bad. I thought you meant going into ketosis post-op. I know about shrinking the fatty liver. I also know you go into ketosis on a high protein, low or no carbs diet. I've read when this happens we get bad breath and or body odor, just don't know what we can do about that. So I thought the strips were for knowing when you enter that stage and controlling the side effects and wanted to know the magic cure. Lol.
  11. I'm not his patient nor any longer have the band but yes.... it was definitely visible and it especially hurt when rubbing against my waistband or belt.
  12. I just requested a letter from my doc stating I am under his care from (date) to (date) and may return to work on (date). Gave it to my he an that was it, instant approval. Now I'm not sure if it's FMLA but they have to grant it if it medically related.
  13. I'm not too familiar with ketosis, I kinda get the basics. So if you have gone into ketosis what happens or how do you solve it?
  14. Sounds like my mother. She would say you're gaining weight and look bad. Then I was banded and lost 70 lbs and all of a sudden I was too thin and looking sickly. Band was removed due to complications and I regained the weight then again she's making those comments. I finally had to tell her she wasn't happy with how I look either way and she apologized. I can wait to see if she'll do it again once I have my revision and start losing again.
  15. Congratulations, I'm having the bypass as well.
  16. I'm having the bypass done on 8/4 which procedure are you going with?
  17. I found that drinking water helps me stay somewhat full.
  18. Lost 4 lbs day 1 and nothing on day 2, hopefully it changes. I am having a healthy dinner though per docs orders. Are you just doing liquids?
