About Me

  • Gender
    Female
I have never been the weight doctors/society said was a good weight.  After that first year of college, I edged over to obese and over the course of the years climbed to morbidly obese.  I've never been one to have a poor self image because of my weight, but it definetly started effecting my health after I turned 40.  For the last 8 years I have worked at one diet or another.  Having some success, but having no joy.  Not only do I use food during stress, I just love trying new things and food has always been a prominent part of my travels.

Recently I went to Universal Orlando.  That's when I realized I had to do something.  I truly found myself affected - out of breath, heart pounding, hot, aching, just plain miserable.

Several friends have had the VSG and all feel it was the best thing they ever did for themselves.  My biggest motivator for choosing the VSG is that it is expected to reduce my gherling level so I won't be constantly feeling starved while I diet (i.e. the no joy).  Two of my friends had the surgery in the U.S., two with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico.  If there was any way to afford the U.S. doctor (18,000), I would stay here and have it done.  But I can't afford him as a cash pay patient.  I also don't feel my health can wait any longer for this change.  So I will be having the VSG with Dr. A on November 12, 2015, at less than half the cost it would be here.
