  4. I had to have the barium swallow because I have acid reflux..they said they do it for everyone though to get an accurate view of the path of your systems because that's important regarding this surgery
  5. Hi! I believe I will be having surgery in September. Not sure how it works for other surgeons but my plan goes like this..I just had my first appointment last week with him. We did pre-op blood work and scheduled all my appointments for barium swallow, sleep study, 2 appointments with a nutritionist, one appointment with a psychiatrist and then they submit it to insurance. They said my insurance takes about a week to approve and then we schedule 2 weeks out or so from there for the surgery. So it definitely sounds like mid-late September. I am so anxious to get this process going. Afraid to lose weight because I'm only a BMI of 35.6 right now but I do have comorbidities.
