  7. They say to drink more water to dilute the concentration of ketones...because ya know, you're not drinking nearly enough water already (yeah right????). You can also chew on some parsley...awesome right?! LOL I think it's safe to say that we ALL have ketosis breath. If it's not one thing it's another...I guess I'd rather have dragon breath than my current large self. I'm sure if you hang with other VSG survivors they won't even notice????. Good luck!
  8. It could be Ketosis breath from the lack of carbs...

  18. Thank you Tauni!!! That's very helpful and reassuring information! I'm glad you're doing well!????
  19. I was sleeved on 6/24...I had a moderate amount of pain after the surgery (in recovery room) which was quickly treated with dilaudid, and I felt much better. I was given the dilaudid every 2.5 hours all that day and through to the next morning. At that point. I wanted to try going without pain meds, which I did for about 7 hours, and I started to have some mild discomfort (mostly from gas). They gave me Vicodin (but I think that extra strength Tylenol would have been sufficient). This is my long way of saying that it is possible to get through this with short-lived pain. As everyone pretty much summed up above, everyone has different pain thresholds, but the medical professionals WILL take care of you. Good luck!

  25. Wascott....exactly! I'm the same way...my fluids are going down great...gimme some real food. Hell, I'm excited for a scrambled egg white and cottage cheese!
  26. My doctor put me on omeprazole...I'm wondering if this is not doing the trick. I know my mother said it doesn't work for her (and she is not a bariatric patient). I should discuss this with the doc when I go on July 2
  27. Maybe it is head hunger...I feel like my stomach is growling too, causing me to feel even hungrier. BUT, maybe my brain is making all this mess happen...ugh!! Very frustrating...
  28. So, 3 days out and I'm feeling less discomfort as far as gas and weird pains go (yay!!) I've been walking and getting around great (even went to the mall to walk...and of course, shop????). However, I'm convinced that the surgery was not actually performed (yes, I'm being sarcastic). I still feel extremely hungry. I hear so many people say that they had to force themselves to eat...uh, not me. The feeling of hunger is so strong it is distracting and uncomfortable. It doesn't help that every blessed commercial on TV is advertising delicious and carb-riddled foods. Has anyone else experienced this? Will this go away?

  31. Thank you...I just did laps around my house and that DID relieve the discomfort! Thank you sleeve friends!
  32. I am experiencing the SAME thing...ugh, it's awful!
  33. The pain I have been experiencing is in the center of my chest, right between my breasts.I am trying to sip water but it feels like battery acid once I get it down to that area of my chest. Is this normal? About when can I see some relief with this?
