  1. You are not alone! For me, the first 100 pounds just fell off. I didn't even care about food. I have been "stuck" for several months with no one to blame but myself. I have been eating like crap, too much sugar, so now I have the cravings back and find myself falling into old habits. I have not gained but I know that it is only a matter of time if I don't get back on track. I refuse to be a fat girl again! We all know what needs to happen to lose weight so we just have to get our butts back in gear.

    Anyone from the AZ?

I used Dr Sprunger. There were a few posts that did not like him but I loved him. I consulted with 3 different doctors and he was the only one that actually appeared to cared about my personal goals and that I actually succeeded. Because his office is small, there is no additional support within his office. If you want a NUT at your finger tips or a support group, he will not be the best choice for you. I didn't want that level of support so for me he was perfect.

Questions about Hair Loss and Scars

I don't really remember when the scars healed but my torso was a road map of scars from previous surgeries so I wasn't paying attention. My hair fell out like crazy while I was losing. Now that my weight loss has stopped for several months, my hair has stated to grow back. It is MUCH thinner that what I am used to and my super curly hair is now straight as a board. Even with the thin hair, I would have the surgery again in a heartbeat.
  4. Agree with the others. I take all of the pills that the surgeon wanted and some additional ones that my sister, also a doc, added. I just bought one of the "old lady" weekly pill holder and I take it to the office. Then I just take them one at a time over the course of the entire day. I love the multi-vit that I found. It's actually a prenatal Vitamin made by Rainbow Light. They sell a mini-tablet version that is way easier to get down. It's a food based vitamin with Probiotics and a bunch of extras.

    Abdominal drain?

I only had a drain in for the night that I stayed in the hospital. They took it out before I was sent home. I only had the one. The nurses came in and emptied it about every two hours. It started as bright red blood and then turned into more of a light pink fluid. My doc was ok with that and discharged me as soon as they pulled it.

    Sweats Immediately After Eating

I agree with Nibbler. Pre-surgery, I would have that happen if I didn't eat. Post surgery, it only happens when I eat sugar, including fruit.

    Peanut butter...oh no!

Have you tried PB2? I cannot justify the calories of regular Peanut Butter and the PB2 is easy to get used to. I am not able to do sugar anymore. It gives me a headache and make me feel like I'm going to vomit. Even eating a piece of fruit makes me feel sick. My sister (3 yrs post sleeve) and a friend (7 years post bypass) are not able to do dairy. For one of them it come right back out the bottom and the other it comes right back out the top.

    Lips and mouth sores

Water, water and more water. Also try adding some L-Lysine to your Vitamins. Pre-sleeve, you were most likely getting enough from red meat. The pills are huge so you will have to crush them. They also sell lip balm that has it.

    Drinking through a straw

I was drinking from a straw on my way home from the hospital with no issues. I think it is another one of those things that is different for everyone.
  10. I am having a hard time finding a great multi-Vitamin. Most of them are missing several key Vitamins causing the need to buy additional bottles. What has everyone else found?

    Protein?

Every Protein drink that I have tried makes me want to vomit so I am in the same boat. I have found the Think Thin Protein Bars are pretty good and they have 20g in a small bar. I can only eat half at a time so I do morning and bed time snack. I love PB2 just on a spoon. Tuna and scrambled eggs are my go to foods. Deli turkey or ham as well.
  12. Thanks for the ideas! I'm going to have to look into the beef Gelatin. I am dreading the saggy skin. I have already started saving for plastic surgery.
