  1. Hi Mom, I also have UHC and mine was submitted on January 31, I too have been calling everyday to check to see if the paperwork had arrived and 2 days ago was told they did not have it yet and that when they get it they would have 30 days to review it. Too my surprise this morning when I called, I actually got a rep that wanted to make sure she looked in the right place in my records and I was told that they received my paperwork on January 31 and I asked if they had reviewed it yet and she said yes it has been approved and was just noted yesterday. I got the impression from this rep that they have a specific area to look for pre-certification approval, I would call again and be a little agressive with them. Hope this helps.
  2. Hi everyone, I just found out that I've finally been approved, I don't have a surgery date yet since I just talked to the insurance company this morning, but hope to have a date soon. I have a question, I've been wondering if anyone has gone to the chiropractor for an adjustment after having their band placed? I didn't know if it would be possible for the port or the band to be misplaced by having the chiropractor do his adjustments. I ask because I see a chiropractor frequently for back and hip pain. Any responses would be great, thanks.
  3. Just called United Health Care and found out my surgery has been approved. Whoohoo, I'm so excited, just waiting for Dr. Hoehn's office to call me now to do whatever comes next? Surgery date, I hope. I can't wait.
  4. I just called United Health Care and they told me that I've been approved for surgery. Whoohoo!! Now, I'm just waiting for word from the surgeon's office for a date, I am so excited.
  5. Sounds good to me too. I haven't been banded yet, but I'd buy one.
  6. I'm also glad to hear that UHC is approving very fast. My paperwork was submitted to UHC on January 31, so I'm hoping to be approved this coming week too. I'm hoping to be banded in March or early April.
  7. Hi Tammy, congrats on the beginning of your new journey on Valentine's Day, no less. I am also new, but I started my journey the first week in November and I am now awaiting insurance approval, woohoo!! I'm hoping to be banded in March or early April, hope to make lots of new friends and gain support by coming here. I've been reading a lot on this website and I'm glad I found it. Teri
  8. Thanks Ghost, looking forward to getting a date.
  9. Hi all, I wanted to introduce myself, I've been reading this site for quite some time and this is my first post. I am finally awaiting insurance approval and can't wait to get a surgery date. Dr. Hoehn is the surgeon who will be performing my surgery. I started my jouney the first part of November and it's been awhile, but I've seen the dietician, Dr. Sabapathy and been to a lapband support group already. I'm not sure what else I have to go thru once my insurance is approved, but hope to have a date in March or early April. I love this website and visit often and hope to make lots of new friends on here. Teri
