  1. How are you, icantseemytoes? I still have a 99.8 temp. My incision sites look a little red, but my mom says they're fine (eye roll.) all of them itch and I got above 35 oz today.
  2. 5 days post-op. Still not getting in all my liquids but still trying. I never thought watching tv and walking would become boring. Today, I get to add itching. They say itching means healing. I'm glad I'm healing, but the itching is driving me nuts.
  3. Is it like that with water? Many people become lactose intolerant after surgery and some protein drinks have milk. Just saying...
  4. Thank you! Sitting at home all day makes my mind go crazy...what was that? Was that a weird ache? I just need to breathe.
  5. I started a 99.9 temp today. Trying to stay positive.
  6. Feeling pretty good. Sipping is a full time job. The op sites still have glue but also a little red and itchy. I have a red whelmed itchy stripe under each boob...looks like they pulled off tape. Trying to keep ice packs on to help with itching. Mouth is always dry. Tongue feels weird and I'm bored. Other than that...I'm good. How have u been?
  7. Are ur op sites itching today? Im going to try drinking 5-6oz/hr today.
  8. Oh, I'm so glad it isn't just me. The doctor said I wouldn't get it all in at first, but I thought "how hard can that be?"
  9. How many oz of liquid are u getting a day? Seems like I sipped all day and still didn't make it over 30 oz. I don't want to get dehydrated.
  10. Nice to meet someone sleeved same day as mine.
  11. Thank you! It is so easy to get paranoid about every little thing. My fever was by this morning, so I was worried for nothing.
  12. Walking is good for you. You can do this!!
  13. Sleeved on Wednesday. I feel good, but I have a low grade fever (99.8) has anyone else had a low grade fever post-op? Dr said to call if 101. I guess I'm just nervous.
  14. I got sleeved on Wednesday and released Thursday evening. I feel okay, but I have a 99.8 temp. Is this normal?
  15. It seems like all I do is sip, walk, rest, and repeat. This is a full time job, but I can do this!!!
  16. Still sore and tired, but everything went great, and I'm looking forward to the great journey in front of me.
  17. I'm on my 2 week liquid diet before my surgery on day 9. I'm so pleased! I was weighed yesterday, and I've lost 20 pounds! The liquid diet hasn't been as bad as I thought. At this point I avoid food, food related places, and food smells...okay I'm a hermit, but so worth it. My kids have stepped up and take turns fixing themselves supper while I take some me time. Afterwards, we sit on the couch and talk about our day. They are learning as I am learning that food is not the center of our lives. I can't wait for my new life and my surgery on June 3.
  18. I've been a member for a few days. Still trying to figure this app out. How do you add people to a friend list or can you? Is the star button for liking what they said or liking that person and what is subscribing? Did I miss the tutorial? Any help would be great.
  19. Wow, that's amazing. My surgery is on June 3...I can't wait. I have a long journey. I am starting at 350lbs.
  20. Did u exercise during liquid diet? And congrats!!! Would love to hear more about u and ur journey.
  21. I wish I had someone like you in my life. Everyone says, "Surround yourself with positive people." Where are those people? How do I find them? Besides my mom and kids, I don't have anyone to encourage me and push me. You are very inspirational, and I am enjoying my journey to positive place.
  22. So I'm on day 5 of pre-op liquid diet (will be on it for two weeks total), and I'm wondering how do I get enough calories to function. I can only have 5 protein drinks a day plus some broth, sugar free jello, and sugar free Popsicles. I figure that is about 800 or so calories a day. How is that enough to function? Plus they want u to exercise. Right now I have no energy and usually try to take a nap during the day. Am I doing something wrong?
  23. Food has played such a HUGE role in my life, that surgery appears to be my only option for ending this cycle. I have two chefs in my family that want me to taste this and see what u think it needs. Every holiday and special event in my family are huge get togethers. In the center is the cooking and feasting. My kids and I look forward to the bonding we get from cooking together and eating dinner. This surgery will change my life in more than one way.
