  1. Call your nutritionist before changing your diet. I had 2 weeks of full liquids. What got me through was using the unflavored protein powder and adding it to broth or soup with no chunky bits. I was able to still meet my protein needs and stay on track. It was a welcome change from milk based, sweet shakes. Mash potatoes were allowed on the soft food stage, but I never ate them since it's all carbs, no protein. I could only eat 2 ounces so I wanted to make sure every bite counted. Which unflavored protein powder did you use? I'm researching for my surgery in July.
  2. I am going to have surgery Mid July also. I would also like to know what needs to be done or gotten together for afterwards!
  3. Thank you for all the replies. I think you are all right. They just probably want to make sure you are stable before jumping in to it! Mine is June 17th. So I guess I'll find out soon enough!
  4. I have depression and take meds for it. However, I have never tried nor thought about committing suicide. Do you think I'll pass the psych test?! That will be really crappy if I can't have it because of that! My depression is controlled by meds. Wonder what they will say?
  5. I have been drinking soda like crazy! I love soda and have tried to give it up several times, just to go back to it. And I know that it will probably be gone after surgery. So I'm indulging now! So bad, I know!!!
  6. I don't have the exact date yet. I got on June 17th to talk to the surgeon, nutritionist, and psychiatrist. I am hoping for a mid-July date, as I am a teacher and want to get it done while I am off work. The people in the office seem to think it will work! I'll keep you updated!
  7. I am just starting my process. Went to the seminar. Have my bloodwork tests scheduled. Will see the surgeon, psych, and nutritionist on June 17th. I'm hoping for a mid-July surgery also, as I'm a teacher and need to get this done while off work!
  8. I'm in the same boat here! My surgery will probably be this summer in July. I will be finding out in a few weeks. And I am indulging in all kinds of things, because I know they will be off limits soon!
