  1. @@bvenegas, yeah insurance can really put a horrible kink in your plans. Considering how much money they would save from obesity related issues, you'd think they'd want is to have surgery as soon as possible. But at least you know it will go through.
  2. @@Phoenix2015, I know what you mean about being nervous. On Monday (5/4) after my final weigh in and they gave me my surgery date, I was so nervous I got nauseous and my hands were shaking so badly I couldn't even drive.
  3. @@bvenegas, which insurance do you have?
  4. OMG if you haven't tried it, put a little PB2 in with the Vanilla Bean Torte, talk about bliss...yum.
  5. It's Pizza Friday here at work and it's taking more willpower than ever to not snatch a slice. I literally want to scream. There's this tiny voice in my head saying "one bite won't hurt" and you've still got 12 days before surgery come on one little bite". Sigh.....why is this so hard?
  6. To everyone who's had surgery this week and to those getting it done today, I wish you all the best with a speedy recovery.
  7. Wishing you all the best for a safe surgery and a fast and easy recovery. I'm positive you're up and walking around by now.
  8. @@cfgalan, don't feel bad. I got home and started cooking for the family and totally forgot I wasn't supposed to be having solids. I remembered halfway through my bowl of seafood stew. oh well, tomorrow's another day.
  9. @@Phoenix2015, I'm on the 21st. Are you excited?
  10. @@wannaBthinsoon, have you found that your tastebuds have changed?
  11. Oh my. Well belated congratulations to you. How has it been?
  12. @@Phoenix2015, you are 100% on point. You're not doing this for anyone else but yourself, so their opinions don't count. If you're on YouTube, there's a woman named Clusie, she is hilarious. But she made a good point, there will always be people who "just don't get it". Don't let their misunderstandings become your problem.
  13. @@perk4756, sounds like you're getting down to the wire. I wish you the best of luck. @@wannaBthinsoon, how far along are you?
  14. @@wannaBthinsoon, I've been on here off and on. Everytime I would think about the surgery I would come back on and see what others were saying about it. I finally got the courage to stop stalking and start my own journey. And now I'm not chickening out. I'm going for that brass ring and happy for everyone on here joining me with their own journey. @Everyone- you all inspire me so much. I'm grateful to each and every one of you :-)
  15. @@cfgalan, I bought the Bariatric Advantage my dr had too but it's so expensive. Chike is also a meal replacement and it tastes fantastic and it's not as costly. You can purchase sample packs to try from bariatricpantry.com
  16. @@jfharo congratulations. How are you feeling?
  17. @@Vikingsfan8178 good luck today and congratulations for making in onto the losers bench. I can't wait to join you. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery.
  18. @@Sabl3r, congrats on your surgery. You'll be fully recovered in no time.
  19. @@cfgalan, I started my liquid diet today as well. Not so bad. If you get a chance you should try the Isopure Cocotein.
  20. Hey me too. We are going on the same day by the same doctor!!!Me three! 5/26 with Dr. Nick - it's a party!OMG!!! That is so awesome! I joined a private facebook group jusy for may and june surgeries. If you are interested in join let me know.@@SassyXray, I would love to be a part of that group. How can I go about it?
  21. ::Raises hand slowly:: I confess, I've been stalking on here for the past 2 years. I finally decided in December to go for it. I just completed my final weigh in and the dr gave me a tentative surgery date of May 21. Hopefully I have no issues and the insurance goes through.
  22. @@VivKS, don't let your family get you down. My family doesn't really understand either. If I had a $ for the number of times I've heard "I just don't understand why you can't just do this on your own", I'd be rich. But I know I need the help the surgery will provide and as long as you understand why this is your best option, you'll be fine as well.
  23. Leave it in. According to my dr as we lose weight our reproductive system kicks into high gear and it becomes much easier to have an accidental pregnancy. You want to make sure you have your birth control method in place before surgery and maintain it for 12 to 18 months until your weight stabilizes.
  24. I saw my surgeon today and he gave me a date.....May 21st. I'm a ball of nerves now. Can't tell whether to laugh, cry, scream or hide under the covers.
