I never had a drain so can't help on this one sorry. I have 4 ports and I'm meant to take the dressings off tomorrow for good. For some reason that makes me nervous as if I drink something, water will come pouring out of them all???? I really have too much time on my hands to think too much at the moment...

. Great idea Rosie, I think right now my stomach name will be GuRP (gurgling unpleasant reactionary pot). It's name will improve when it treats me better..???? How is everyone doing 5 days post op? Lol good name:-)

Has anyone else named their new stomach? Mine is called Basil. He doesn't tolerate any nonsense and soon lets me know if he's not happy????

I totally agree with 'your body your decision'. But from experience, it's important to have support, in those first few days. Physical at least, if not emotional. So please make sure you have that. I think he sounds scared and can't articulate it. Could you sit down and talk to him about what the benefits will be for you as a couple? And ask what is really behind his concern? At the end of the day it's your decision alone, but having your spouse on board will help you both on the journey

Me too. 14 days fluid, 14 days puree. I'm sure I'll be fed up of puree too this time in 2 weeks!

I'm having a bad night. Feeling very angry and upset with myself for having to put myself and my family through this. Not a good evening. Feeling lonely, even though surrounded by love. Sorry, just had to get it out there somewhere.

Beautiful spring day in London. I was feeling down this morning too but I've felt better this afternoon. Hardest thing is not being able to lift my children. I'm proud of myself today. I've managed frozen juice, soup and milk today. So much better than yesterday

May 19th in the evening

I'm the opposite! Food ads are turning my stomach and I don't want to eat anything. It's also not good as even a mouthful of yoghurt is too hard. Or a sip of protein shake. I guess neither way is good!

Thanks. Day 3 today and it is still hard but as I increase my liquid it seems to help

I've thrown up once as well. Nurse tried to push me to have more water and then I threw up. So I've only got through 1.5 glasses of water so far. But hoping that will improve

we don't seem to have a leak test so drinking. Hoping the water will solve it

I don't think so but I can check. It may be lack of water thanks

This is very strange. Had my op last night. Now 10am and my stomach is gnawing. Very confused by this. It isn't emotional hunger

All done now. Am sleeved:-) had an allergic reaction to anaesthetic so a rough night but onwards and upwards. Haven't managed any water yet but looking forward to getting better day by day

Surgery day for me... Nervous and excited. I go in at 4pm and am first in list at 6pm. Only 12 hours to go!
