Good morning Lena, I had my gastric bypass surgery last Thursday. I'm 55 and was 219 lbs with sleep apnea. I was 206 the morning of surgery and am at one of my weight loss milestones. 199!! (That was as of 30 minutes ago!)
You are so very brave and smart to pursue weight loss surgery. I always thought that I could do it on my own but never had success. Good luck to you.
I'm 55 and have never, NEVER, been able to lose more than 5 pounds. I have a super slow metabolism. It was a co-worker who said my choice was extreme. She's an NP so I gave her comment (although she doesn't know any of my medical or family history!) more thought than I would someone else's.
Hi Butterflykisses,
I am having my surgery May 7, 2015 at EMMC. Have you had your surgery yet? I'd love to hear where you are in your weight loss journey. I hear ya, not much support when you talk about weight loss surgery.
My surgery is scheduled for this Thursday, May 7. Did anyone deal with lack of support when revealing their WLS decision? I only told a few people because of that lack. One co-worker even told me it was "an extreme" move.
