  1.    Katrina Anderson reacted to a post in a topic: Band to Sleeve - NO REGRETS! LOL
  2. Congrats! I know what you mean about fighting to get stuff down. We're learning, it's trial and error. Good luck!
  3. I have to do soft and pureed for a month. I'm doing soft mostly. I can't get with the pureed consistency. Congrats to you also. Did you do rny also or were u sleeved?
  4. I have friends that have done it both ways. It's up to the doctor. I didn't have that as an option.
  5. No I had band removed and all my repairs done (scar tissue removed, hernia repair etc) then I was suppose to wait 4-6 weeks but it ended up being longer because we had a blizzard in va. My surgeon doesn't do them at the same time. In hindsight I'm glad he didn't. After surgery I developed a bowel obstruction and had to be rushed back to the hospital. It cleared itself without additional surgery which I was 20 minutes away from. For me, I like being able to recover from band removal & it gave the doctor a chance to see what he was up against.
  6. Normally your doctor will let you choose. My doctor actually suggested rny because I had horrible reflux and the sleeve can actually make it worse. So he was worried about me causing unnecessary problems for myself. I also had more weight to lose and rny patients tend to lose more weight & faster. I'm doing great. Starting weight was 352...at surgery I was 341. At my 2 week post op on 4/17 I was 309!!! Lost 31 lbs in the first 2 weeks. It's an adjustment with the tiny portions but I'm loving what I'm seeing in my body. Good luck on your journey!
  7. Jane 13 I lost about 70 lbs with the band and gained most of it back. Once it slipped it was all downhill. From the beginning I could never find that "sweet spot " where I felt like I had just enough fluids in my band. It was never really right. Then the reflux started! Omg! Some days I could barely swallow my own saliva. I was soooo glad when my surgeon removed it.
  8. Sonnie456 thanks! Congrats on taking the first step. Don't be nervous,. The process is tedious but so worth it. Luck for me my insurance didn't have a waiting period.
  9. Hi! Hope all went well. I had surgery on the 6th also!
  10. Had lots of issues and regained my weight and the reflux was horrible! Gad gastric bypass 4/6 and feeling pretty good. Down 31lbs so far. Just joined this group but glad to people that understand.
  11. Hello everyone, my name is Free. I had gastric bypass surgery April 6th. So far I've lost 31lbs & I'm feeling pretty good. My surgery was actually a revision from lapband surgery that I had back in 2009. My band slipped and I had it removed back in February. It's good to be able to join this group. Glad to meet, share and support you all on this journey. Good luck and congrats to you all.
