I believe!!! I believe in the power of prayer! Our little dog is home tonight. We still don't know what caused all this for sure but they were able to get her red blood cell count down and the doc said after a couple of hours of fluids last night she began to perk up. I am sure with all the loose stools she was dehydrated. The amount of blood I found...I still can't believe, but the doctor said that it can happen just because she ate something she shouldn't have. Bizaar! I would understand her vomiting...but the other? She is bouncing around a little bit and seems to be ok. I really thought we were going to loose her . Zach had a doctor's appointment today for his arm and got the all clear...or he "graduated" according to the doctor. He does not have to go back anymore!!!!! We are completely done! I had a nail in my tire so I went and had that fixed today...and then headed to the doctor myself to see about my back and this pesky head cold. I think we are ALL fixed now. What a day! I will be glad when I can post on the other site I miss chatting with everyone. I'm changing my middle name to "drama" after this freaking year I have had. HA! Hopefully next year we can keep everyone out of the dang hospital!!! Have a good one! Angela

I still can't freaking post on the other site either. I sent an email YESTERDAY!! I am trying not to give up.... Spent almost three hours at the emergency vet tonight. Tuffi, our little malti-poo, is in a bad way. TMI...but she had loose stools the past couple of days and now is bleeding badly from that location. I found about a five inch round puddle of blood in her crate when I got home from work. She is very listless. She is being kept overnight for fluids and observation. Her red blood cells are way elevated. I know everyone kept giving her nibbles of their food this weekend and they are saying that it is a good possibility that is what is behind this..that or her pancreas. Say a little prayer, please. She really is a crucial part of our family. I am exhaused. I will check in tomorrow afternoon. Hoping for the best... Love you guys.

I'm here....this site is ridiculous!! I am way over it. I joined the other site...just waiting for approval. It sounds like everyone had a great Thanksgiving. It turns out I really did injure my back. I spent the entire week last week moving like a turtle with my butt sticking out. This shall pass too, right?? See ya on the other side! Angela

I don't think I like these changes I am glad you are feeling better Kat and I am glad you enjoyed your trip. Excellent news about your mom's surgery as well. Sorry we missed you this time. I know you come to Texas periodically so hopefully we can reschedule. Tracy, how you doin'?? I admire your strength and attitude! Stick in there!! Suzie, how are you feeling after your surgery? For all of you who are not facebook-er's...Zach surgery went really well to. He is DONE!! We have (after almost a year?!?) retained an attorney to check into the elevator incident. Long story for another time. It may or may not amount to anything but I believe it is worth a try. For all that Zach has been through and now it looks like he may have some nerve damage around his thumb to boot. I think the main focus will be on the elevator manufacturor (sp) and the installer. I bumped the coffee pot against the sink this morning and shattered it. My brain is in a fog until I can drag my carcass to Wal-mart!! I know I am missing a lot of people...I love you all! We are getting ready to take the rest of our Thanksgiving prep stuff to the other house so I may not be back til Sunday. Be safe and enjoy your Thanksgiving!! Angela

Yay Suzie!! Glad all is well. Rest now....really rest!!! No working in the yard, house or anywhere else!! Don't make us call Darrell........lol. I am also glad Kat's mom is doing good. I hope she pops in soon. Welcome StrangeDZ. This is a great group...come on in. I didn't mention this for a while because I was afraid of putting it out there. I guess I need to get it off my chest now. Mike is having gastric bypass on the 21st of December. I have really mixed emotions about it. We started this lapband journey together and I thought we would continue together . Remember me mentioning that statement my doctor made?? It's hitting home now. He has put all of his weight back on and his sleep apnea is horrid (snoring, good God...). He is just at the point where he doesn't want to fool with the band anymore. I really want to see his health improve and I want him around for a very long time...but a part of me is resentful. I don't know if this is the answer. I hate to see him give up on the band but I guess the bottom line is that he has made a decision and I need to support him. I need to get on to bed, we have an early start tomorrow. I will be off from tomorrow til the 29th...bouncing around with family so I will check in when I can. Have a good one, Angela

Evening! First off, Ashley, your chili mac was a hit here!! Thank you for sharing your recipe. It looks like Tracy and I are going to miss Kat this trip. Tracy mentioned above that Macy is sick and Zach had a doctor's appointment today and they bumped his surgery to this Friday. I am a wee bit pissed because we had this planned since his last surgery in July. We picked Tuesday to be the day. His doctor came in today and said he had a full schedule on Tuesday. Really? And he knew this since July? No, we got bumped. He put him on the calendar for the day after Thanksgiving. Not going to happen. I have a house full of people coming in. We found out that he has an opening this Friday, but honestly, it looks bad at my job for me to be taking sick time right before a weeks vacation. I keep all my documents and my job is well aware of the accident so hopefully everything will be fine. It just chaps my butt a little. Suzie...I read about you being on liquids. Forgive me...isn't your surgery coming up soon? I have a foggy brain right now. I am gonna go facebook for a bit and then hit the sack. Have a good one! Angela

I'm here...just super stinky busy. It sucks! Vacation next week. Vacation next week. Vacation next week......I will survive this! Tracy, I really want to meet Kat but I am not sure how or if it will work out. We leave Friday for Palacios (meeting part of the family there) and then back home on Sunday. Monday I have a meeting with an attorney (will tell you guys later...I have to sit on this one for a little bit). Tuesday is Zach's surgery and from then on out is more company coming in and Thanksgiving. What is the window of time that we have? I would still love to work something out!! I keep checking in here just never staying long enough to post! Sorry!! Hope everyone is well! Tracy...let me know ASAP and perhaps we can still swing it! Angela

I know I have talked a lot about Zach's arm so I came home and tried to find a pic so you could see. Let's see if this works or not... They are slowly removing the skin graft as his skin stretches to tolerate it. Angela

Hey ya'll! Busy busy here! This should be our last week(end) of "busy-ness" and then things will get somewhat back to normal. Thank you, Jesus! Kat...I hope you still get to come to TX. What a dilemma  . I haven't heard any talk about all of us getting together still or not? I am on vacation from the 19th-29th. I am stoked!! We have a lot of family and friends coming in so it should be lots of fun. We too did the trash bag covering of wounds, lol! Zach's arm was a big one. A little different than trying to cover a leg that you need to stand on, but it does get the job done. Speaking of which, and in case I forget to mention it before I leave, please keep Zach in your prayers on the 23rd. He goes in for what I pray (I HAVE said this before...lol) is his last surgery on that arm injury from last year. His arm looks amazing...but the inside of his arm (where the damage was) still has a little bit of skin graft that has to be removed. No big deal, but still...another surgery. Anyhow, getting out of here...I am excited about the country music awards tonight so I want to have dinner ready and have my butt parked on the couch by seven! HA!! Have a good one! Angela OH!! I will pm my addy to you Tracy!

Awww...that sucks about the trip, but YAY on the victim's infomation and notification everyday!!! How cool is that?!?! I am soooo happy for you! Nothing much going on here today...just work. Suzie, I wish I had your energy (and you are still in a boot, right?)! Zachary decided to go on a run last night and we all ended up joining him. Even the dog! I ran and walked because the little squirt kept trying to get under my legs, (the dog), lol. I was so excited...excited that we did it together!! I am hoping we go again tonight. Have a good one! Good morning! Ashley...I sympathize with the snoring!!!! I have slept with earplugs on for almost 10 years now. Seriously!! It was tolerable when he (hubby) had lost 80 + lbs. but now that he has gained it back...well, I sometimes have to "start" on the couch and then make my way to bed when I am good and tired (or have already fallen asleep). Don't know what to tell you...hubby gets irritated that I am not in the bed either but ya know? I have to get some sleep too!! Thank you guys for the wishes for Zach. He had a blast. The little girl in the pic on facebook and Zach have known each other for almost two years now. They refer to each other as "besties" but sitting there watching them....?? She is a year younger and wants to "date" him when she gets to high school next year. LOL...they really like each other and as a parent, I can REALLY appreciate them taking it slow! I pulled out all the Christmas totes yesterday. I counted 10. When did that happen? Alot of it is stuff from years ago but I love it. I usually complain about the stores rushing Christmas in way before I am ready. This year I really want to set it up early so I can enjoy it! LOL...flip, flop I am! Have a good one! Angela

Happy Sunday! I hope everybody is enjoying their weekend. Tracy, woo-hoo!! You are on a roll. Congrats. Debbie, I am so proud of you too. You go girl! Kat, glad you are feeling better... I worked all day yesterday and today we took Zach (and his girlfriend) to Olive Garden for his birthday. He intercepted his Ipod Touch on Friday by being here when the FedEx guy arrived so he seriously thought he was getting it today. Nope! Gonna wait til Christmas...lol! I am tired and facing a mountain of laundry. Mike just got called back into work. Love it. NOT! Have a good one! Angela

Good morning!! Ashley, this may sound harsh...but I think you need to cut the ties with Lee completely. Meaning, don't be present any where that he is. It might be a little difficult at first because of his ties to your family but he is reaking nothing but havoc on you and your husband. Suzie, Lordy! Take care of your foot!! Is hubby waiting on you hand and "foot"...you deserve it. Kat, love the pics of Kinsey and your dog! She is a little doll. I hope your inlaws make it in safely. That is a little scary!! Bethany- Hang in there!! Come back and post so that we can help you along. I think most of us are struggling right now. Debbie, I took some of your "medicine" and took off yesterday. I think sometimes you just need to!! Oh, and you are pretty terrific, too! Tracy, you must have had me on the brain :frown: . You posted twice to me but I think you were meaning Ashley! LOL... I know I am not getting everyone, but hello to you all...and TGIF!!! Last time I will bring this up, I promise....Dad did request a recount. It looks like he missed it by 15 now?? Or so his local paper is reporting...but originally they said 12. According to the paper he gained one vote (I know, the math doesn't add up!) so...hopefully he is not out the $800.00. I know his heart is broke so I haven't talked to him directly yet. He has been spending a bit of time at the courthouse. I just leave good messages with my mom and I am thinking that I will try to call him on Sunday when he has had a little time to heal. I did enjoy yesterday...quiet house, then went shopping big time!! I have a bunch of family/friends coming to the bayhouse for Thanksgiving. I had bought nice dishes and some small pan/baking sets but it's not going to be enough for all the cooking that I am expecting to happen! I had a $10.00 coupon (minimum purchase $10.00) and another save $10.00 on a purchase of $25.00 or more from JC Penny so I bought some new pans and mixing bowls. I am frugal (can't bring myself to say cheap!! ). I saved $88.00 at the grocery store yesterday!!!! I joined the Proctor Gamble web. If you have a grocery card (like a discount card that some chains offer) you can go to the PG site and download coupons directly to your card. I then clip coupons and use them with the PG coupons. I am not sure how legit that is...or why the grocery chain allows you to use 2 coupons on one purchase, but it works. This particular store offers double (up to .50) and triple coupons (up to .39) so it really adds up. It takes me a while to get through the store....checking the ads against my coupons but saving $88.00...it's worth it! I was glad to go without my child yesterday, lol. He likes to add to my basket and chit-chat. I can't think proper with him there. How sad is that!! Speaking of which...my little angel turns 15 on Sunday. Soooo hard to believe. His girlfriend's birthday is next week so he asked if we could bring her along to dinner. Too cute... Have a good one! Angela

I love it too, Cindy! Great pics...thanks for sharing!! Kat, it's a small town. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 3,000 people voted. My sister explained that he only needed 50% + 1 to win. There will be no recount on their part. My dad had 49.78% to the elected judge's 50.22%. My Dad can pay to have a recount...to the tune of around $800.00 (25 cents per vote). He will only be refunded his money if they find an error. Sadly, it's still a "good ole' boy" county (hell, I think it is the whole state!) and they protect their own. My parents have been there going on 14 years now and are still considered outsiders. These folks get in an uproar if their roads aren't paved NOW. Forget about the county being on a budget...and a schedule unless it is dire. The last judge is facing charges for doing a lot of work on his property with county equipment. Also for misuse of funds. The new judge is already promising some ridiculous stuff so we will see how it goes (yep...a little bias, I am). My heart hurts for my dad but I think this is going to work out for the better. He was offered a job last night that I think he would be very happy with. My brain hurts. It has been a long day with too many emotions ping-ponging around. I took a mental health day (lol, ok...vacation day) tomorrow so I will check in then. Sleep well! Angela

Just found out my dad lost his re-election by 12 votes. That really bites. I am understanding that they don't have to have a run off either. I guess he will go back to work at the police department. Ah, well...upwards and onwards... Kat...I am thinking meat loaf for my crew but I think you just did that so I am no help! Evening! Cindy, pics please! How sweet of your students!! I hope your son gets the help that he needs. Sad stuff there... Debbie, I had that kind of day today too. I deal with a lot of drivers that do not speak English very well. While I am normally tolerant...it wasn't happening today. I can appreciate when they make an effort, and I will normally help them as best as I can, but to walk them through the procedure over and over again because they won't try?? *sigh* Sadly, I know a lot of them have been doing this for months if not years...so ya know? Put a little effort into learning the basics of English (enough to get your job done!). Sorry if I offended anyone...just venting. Kat...did you survive? I hope wherever you are they are serving you huge margarita's...or your beverage of choice! Shar...liquids for sure. It sounds like you got something stuck and are in a "cycle". I hate that! Tracy, tiramisu...man, that is good stuff. Good for you to pass it on to Frank. Willpower...I wish I had some!! Hi to everyone I missed. I am a bit on the pooped side and not thinking clearly (no margarita's involved...I swear!). I am sooooo glad the elections are over with. I am sick of all the political commercials!!! On a positive note, my dad is running for county judge again (small town, Arkansas) so I am crossing my fingers for him! (Yep, Plain...I pass right through your little town on my way up North....59 North, that is!) Have a good one! Angela

Good morning! It sounds like everyone had a great weekend. We probably had around 60-70 trick-or-treaters. Way more than I expected! Luckly I was prepared. I just thought with it being a Sunday night that we would not see as many as usual. We had one little boy...I swear he had an attention issue (not funny at all for the parents I imagine) but he was a doll!! He kept trying to charge across the street and the daddy had to grab him by the back of the neck (costume). He was gabbing a mile a minute the whole time. I would guess he was 4 or 5 years old. Anyhow, Mike and I were sitting out in the lawn with my mesh light-up pumpkin and Zachary's carved pumpkin handing out candy. He was facinated with the mesh pumpkin's lights changing colors and kept picking it up and twirling it around. Then he moved on to Zach's pumpkin...ooh-ing and ahh-ing. The little booger then leaned into the carving and blew the candle out! THEN while dad was fussing at him, he ran to our door and rang the doorbell. HELLO??? LOL...we were sitting right there. I couldn't stop laughing. He was just so cute and soooo animated! He never stopped moving!! Guess you had to be there!!! Too cute. I feel sleep deprived too...I am ready for time change on Sunday!! BBL.... Angela

TGIF!!!!!! Tracy, I couldn't be any more happier for you!!!!!!!!!!! Trey, (in my best southern drawl) "Why, I would imply no such thing!" lol! Ashley, good luck with that party. I too think I would skip it. I would be too uncomfortable to have a good time... Only one fire got lit last night, lol! I sat on the swing with the dog on my lap and my feet to the fire watching hubby do "10 min. worth of work"....his words. He was wiring recepticals and finishing up some light work. Ten minutes my butt, lol! I do love to watch him work and I am greatful for all the things he knows how to do. Gotta get back to it! Have a good one, Angela

Zach has an away game tonight (a little over an hour away) so Mike and I are going to the bayhouse to light a little fire in the pit (in more ways than one? :sneaky: lol!!!) and enjoy the peace and our *finally freaking here* cold front! Have a good one! Angela

Good morning!! Tracy, I hope all is well with you. Call me...I am here! Where the heck IS Suzie? Debbie...I think that is why I was a lurker for so long and not a writer on this site. You are most certainly appreciated here!!!! Jenn- Cool building! I am curious about your part in it too. Michelle, I forgot to mention that your spiders and slugs sounded neat. Did you take pictures? Kat, that program sounds deep! I think it would rip my heart out to write my son's obit. Be safe on your journey today. I hope Rick's test all turn out good! Morning Plain, Terri, Cindy, Ashley and anyone I am missing! I really enjoyed having margaritas with hubby last night. We've gotten in the (bad) habit of going once a week to our little restaurant here by the house. It is a way for us to reconnect a little without laundry, dishes, ringing phones or any other "need" getting in the way. How sad is that?? Have a good one! Angela

Hey! Michelle, the squash turned out really well. I think it compares to pumpkin pie. I used brown sugar, allspice, butter and some cinnamon to flavor it. It tasted like dessert! I had also brought home an acorn sqash and one spagetti squash to experiment with. I think we are hitting our margarita hot-spot a little later on tonight (lushes we are!!!) so they will have to wait! ...to tell you how much I cook and how bold I am? Mike said something to the effect of thinking those were meant for decoration on the Thanksgiving table. Turd. I am getting out of my comfort zone and trying new things! Michelle...my eyes popped out of my head when you said mummy. MUMMY??? Don't do that to her!!! My mom dressed me as a mummy in kindergarten. We were not poor but darn close. My mom used an old sheet torn into strips and wrapped me (over and over again) and secured the strips with what I remember was a ga-zillion safety pins. We had a Halloween parade where we walked across the stage and showed off our costumes. Well....I had to pee. And I couldn't reach all the pins. Looking back, I must've thought nobody would notice. I am still tramatized from that incident...and I still remind her about it! LOL. What was she thinking? I know she was young and broke and did the best she could...but man! Thirty years later and I can STILL hear them laughing. ...now I am going to have to drink a double tonight! LOL. Have a good one! Angela
