  1. Do you have a hiatal hernia? That could be the issue for your reflux. In which case the band would only make it worse. My surgeon told me he would inspect for a hernia during my sleeve & repair it while he was in there. Maybe something to look into?
  2.    heartonmysleeve82 reacted to a post in a topic: HOW LONG OFF OF WORK?
  3. I also switched job positions right when my approval went through in November. I delayed my surgery until after lots of training, mandatory meetings, ect. When I thought I was in the clear I called the surgeon, who called my insurance & said my approval was still valid. My surgery is may 11th. It's taken almost a year because of the job issue, but I do not regret it at all. Job security!
  4. My surgery is on a Monday & I will return to work the next Monday. I have a desk job. I have Fmla paperwork ready if needed though.
  5. I have a Bowflex tread climber and I love it. If I don't want the stair stepper it's a simple switch flip but still at a slight incline to give a better workout.
  6. I wouldn't lie about it, especially if you have any kind of medical leave available to you in the event that there were complications. I was completely honest with my boss & informed HR, who has paperwork ready in the event anything were to happen. My boss is very supportive & I actually have a pretty strong support system at work. There hasn't been any bad stigmas associated for me. The people that were more worried were at ease when they were more informed.
