  1. Hey guys, thought maybe someone would know what I can do to help...I cannot tolerate much protein! Just a few sips hits my stomach like lead. I finally managed to sip one over about 3 hours. But I'm miserable most of the time. I keep trying of course I know my body needs it. Also, I'm on pureed/soft foods and find I can get maybe two small spoons of something down (protein based..ie greek yogurt, egg, fish) and it hits like lead and just sits there, or even a few sips of a protein drink are making me feel almost nauseated. I've gotta start getting more than 200 calories down! And gotta get closer to my protein goals. I do find that papaya enzymes and gas-ex pills help, but after every "meal" of two bites I'm thinking I'm going to over do it on the gas-ex! And I have terrible burping and farting.... I've turned gross!! Any ideas?
  2. Oh wow!!! That so good to hear she's doing better!!! Let her know she's not alone, protein is really hard for me too... I can tolerate some called Premier Protein it has 30g of protein and 1g carbs....i can drink one in about 3 hours... I can't tolerate even that much at a time. You can buy it at some Walmart's and at Costco and Sam's... It's thin and when sipped is the best testing one. And also, when I can't get much protein in I just try again the next day! But CONGRATULATIONS for 50lbs loss!!! WOW!
  3. @@BariatricBarb, Yes, I have, and am wondering if it's either from lack of caffeine, or side effect of the meds they gave me, lack of neck support in surgery and in hospital. Tylenol didn't change my headache either...Mine ended up feeling like sinus pressure so I after I was able to take one tab of a sinus medicine it went away!! So sorry, hope you're disappears soon.
  4. I was sleeved on Friday (6/12), and nausea was so bad I too felt I'd made a mistake, but sing so much better now. I'm back home now, and so, so glad I am!! My sister is an RN and is here to take care of me. I feel so much better, just soreness, and very mild nausea once in a while, Thank you Jesus!!
  5. Oh! Also wanted to add a tip, whenever your mouth is really dry before when you can't drink anything or after surgery ask for a cup of cold water to rinse your mouth out with, I did and gargled it too, that really, really helped.
  6. Hi guys, here's my update, I'm back home now, and feeling better, I have to admit my first 48 hours were pretty miserable, but I'm able to keep nausea at bay now. I have had some pain but mostly soreness, I think the first night after surgery I overdid it with walking too much, like every hour quite a bit, then the pain meds have me nausea on top of that so thus began my misery. But Thank you God I am feeling much better now! Yeah!!!
  7. So far waiting for my surgery, they took blood, I peed in a cup, I have my IV. The clinic is small but very efficient. Everyone is so nice.
  8. Hey guys, going in later today for surgery!!! I'll let you know how it goes.

  13. @@Daisy Girl, and @@hopefulmom76, yeah!!! I'm scheduled for June 12 too!!! Nervous, excited, and wondering if I can get everything done in my to do list before surgery!!! That includes, my house cleaned, my car worked on in the next four days!
  14. @@music1618, WOW!!! and thank you for posting, I'm going into surgery Friday, and so am nervous, I've had a lot of people tell me, "you just need to diet and exercise," and repeat a story about one man they know who regained all his weight, and more! But then I see your and other people's pictures and I know it's possible! Wow post-op three years!!! You look awesome!!!
  15. @@former_vbg, uuhhhm I just checked it out, because I was curious, and they did have a lot of other info other than advertising for that surgeon, who by the way is one of the surgeons who works with BariatricPal. Just thought I'd point that out.
  16. @@Designer Edit, hey, I'm having mine June 12th!! Maybe I'll see you there! I'll be the red head that's all doped up!!!

  19. @@CrazyJaney, WOW!!! girl, you are an inspiration!! Looking great!
  20. @@thecamiraye, @@Java91, I'm nervous too. Thought I might be there only one! My surgery is planned for June 12. What helps me the most is looking at before and after pictures. I know it's going to be difficult, this pre-op diet sure is! My sister told me to write down all the reasons I have for losing weight, and keep it in my pocket, on the fridge and other places, so when I'm tempted I can look at it and keep inspired. (She's lost 50lbs w/diet pills) anyway, thought that was a great idea. I can use all the help I can get!!
  21. @@Drzstephy I agree, I loved her post... I'm getting sleeved next week too!!! Yeah for us!!
  22. Awesome!! That'd be great! I knife in getting excited, and a bit nervous.... Mines next Friday!!

  24. Hey, started my pre-op diet today, and one of the patients families brought in bagels and can cheese, the junk good drawer was full of chocolate and there was Angel food cake with pick frosting cause it was somebody's birthday!! Aarrrhhhgg.. It was hard, but ya know I didn't touch any of it!!! Woootwooot!! I'm just worried about cravings post-op. But I've day at a time!!! Going in for surgery on the 12th!!!
  25. Yeah, I couldn't find it either side a bit, glad to see it's back to! @@Tonileigh yeah! So glad you are recovering well!! I've started my pre-op diet. And am so worried about craving things post op. Praying I can stick 100% to this diet so post op won't be so drastic! In going in next Friday!!
