    Big Heads

Please don't laugh at me. I am wondering why following surgery people's head seem disproportionate. Have you noticed this as well?
  2. . Hi! I am in Providence. I am planning on getting surgery with Dr. Bloomenthal at Roger Williams Medical Center. How was the surgery? How are you? I am excited for you.

    Big Heads

I am so glad that y'all responded. To me this is not something that people typically talk about but it has been bothering me. I wish there was a way to make sure that I don't become a bobble. A sexy and healthier bobble but, still a bobble. On a better note, I am waiting for my insurance pre-approval. Whoo hoo!!

    African American vsgers!

Congratulations! I am excited for you. I was sleeved in KS. No excess skin, but I really think it depends on how much weight you have to lose and how fast you lose it-not necessarily race. I was sleeved 4/1/15 have lost 45 lbs since surgery (am 5 lbs. from goal now). That's an average of about 2.5 lbs. /week. Good luck!Thank you. I actually just moved from Kansas to RI.

    African American vsgers!

Hi Ladies, I have moved states and I have an appointment tonight for the initial group consultation. I have a few questions: 1) Has anyone been sleeved in RI? 2) I have been told that excess skin is not a problem for African Americans. Is that true in your case?

    African American vsgers!

Ladies I need help. My insurance denied my claim before I moved from Kansas (my height was recorded as 5'6 instead of 5'4 which changed my BMI) and I just moved to Rhode Island. I am scheduled for the group presentation on the 12th of August but, I am starting to get nervous. My sister has done her own "research" and has found at least one woman that cannot take care of herself 5 weeks post-op. Has anyone heard of such a delayed recovery? I keep telling my sister that the womans recovery is atypical but now I am worried. How long should I expect to be out of work and unable to drive? I don't have 5 weeks of time accrued.

    African American vsgers!

Hello Ladies. I am early in my journey (meeting with the surgeon in two weeks) but I am so scared about losing my hair. I have very nice dread logs and I am so afraid of losing them. Did anyone notice lots of loss? If so, how much and for how long?
