Hi All,
I can't even remember how I found this site! I have been visiting off and on for several years as I tossed around the idea to have the surgery. Last spring I knew that was the route I wanted to take: needed to take. I began with talking to my dr about it and he supported me completely. He has been amazing through the whole journey. We got the necessary paperwork and permissions and set up a meeting with the bari doc in Anchorage. (I am on an island and have to make an hour flight to get to Anchorage each trip I make.) I finished up all my prelim rig-a-ma-role and now am awaiting my surgery. I am scheduled for surgery on May 6th. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I have 10 (so far) grandchildren that I hope to be able to keep up with. This surgery is my investment towards that. I have a pretty strong willpower and know that this IS the right thing for me and my family.
My personality? That is a hard one. I am a sarcastic joker at times but will step in and be the overly nuturing soul in a heartbeat. I NEVER want to hurt anyone's feelings at all. I don't gossip and don't tolerate anyone gossiping to me. Drama is best left for the stage. If you ask me a question and I don't answer, I probably just don't want to hurt your feelings. I don't like to fib about things so try to abide by that old saying "If you can't say something nice..."
Hey, lets whip this obesity thing together! Game on? GAME ON!
