  1. I just found out yesterday that my surgery is going to be July 15th too as long as my pre-op testing comes back clean. I will also start my pre-op diet July 1st. I'm also July 15th. I start my pre-op diet on the 1st.
  2. I'm a total newb with Protein powders. I'm wondering if anyone can give some recommendations for good ones to get/try? Bonus points if I can get a small container/packet.
  3. We also have to attend a class - mine is on the 25th. It will be worth it - and remember, they do this a thousand times a year. I'm always a fan of more information than less.
  4. I called the insurance company daily until it was approved. Granted, it did take only two days.
  5. July 15th. Already approved by insurance - I'm surprised so many get scheduled for surgery without being approved by insurance yet! I just made all the rest of my needed appointments today - EKG, chest x-ray, labs, and pre-op physical. 3 weeks prior to surgery I have a pre-op class with a group of people going around the same time as me.
  6. I had my first appointment in late March, surgery mid July. About 3.5 months.
  7. Ditto. I'm pre-op, my date is July 15. I have PCOS as well and cannot wait to have a baby. I will be 35 probably before I give birth - older than I wanted, but I will be much healthier.
  8. 150 is my goal, though to be in a healthy bmi range it is 180.
  9. July 15th.. What a great day.. That my birthday.. I will be 1 week post op by then... CANNOT wait to see how us July sleeves do!!! I'm getting the RNY - but yes! It seems like so far away, but I know it will come up fast.
  10. There are month boards - I've started a thread on the July board. http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/1151-july-2015/
  11. I've told my coworkers that I'm friendly with - ones that I go out to lunch with/post work drinks with. I've told my husband, parents, sister, closest girlfriends... I think that is about all. I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep it off social media, unless my MIL spills the Beans, which most likely she will do once she finds out. I've asked my husband not to tell them yet.
  12. I'm thinking about birth control post surgery. I'd really prefer not to use hormonal BC, but I'm not sure what other option there might be, since I'm only going to TTA for one year post surgery. Any advice?
  13. What about the Nuva Ring? I'm also interested - I don't really want to go on hormonal bc, but not sure what else to do.
  14. Hello from St. Paul! I will be going through St. Joseph's with Dr. Kelly.
  15. One week! Ouch. I'm only clear liquids 1 day prior, liquids 2 weeks prior.
  16. @@Bacon-n-Limes are you going through St. Joseph's? Your process sounds the same as mine. I just got approved yesterday and am scheduled for July 15th.
  17. Hi! I scheduled my surgery for July 15th yesterday. I am hoping maybe more people find this monthly forum.... I'm nervous, excited, and ready.
