New to dating
So I offered to pick her up and she said she appreciated that. She said she needed to get a new car. I proceeded to make small talk and after a couple exchanges she went silent. For a week. Then today out of the blue she asks how am I doing. I told myself I had moved on. I enjoyed our first meeting so I'm tempted to respond. I don't think I'm being to clingy expecting a second date in less than a month after the first.

I'm not going to pursue the woman at work. Don't need to make things awkward at work. Just surprising the odds we would be matched given the thousands of available people in my area plus the fact there are hundreds of people where I work and I would be matched with someone I know.

Well I discovered something interesting today. While perusing my matches on eHarmony, I noticed I was matched with a co-worker. This is someone who I like a lot and didn't know she was single. I'm wondering if I should pursue this? Not sure about office politics. It would also then become awkward if she wasn't interested in a romantic relationship.

It's not going to work with the second woman. I got a text this morning and basically said she wasn't interested. I was more relieved than disappointed. She was nice but I just didn't feel it. I was wondering how to approach that and she did it for me.

I met the new woman. It was ok. She was nice but I didn't get the same vibe as the first one. She didn't leave any hints about meeting a second time like the first one. Speaking of the first one, she texted me while I was with the other woman. She said she felt bad because she was looking forward to meeting. Would it be ok if I offered to pick her up?

I was wondering if it would be creepy if I offered to pick her up? Not sure how a woman would feel having a man come to her house on a second date.

Well technically not another state but another country. She works in the US and crosses the border each day for work. She works be me so we're going to meet after work. Not sure how the logistics of this is going to work. The majority of the hour commute is crossing the border. Now the other woman finally answered and said she is having car issues. I'm not sure how I should proceed.

Kind of feeling suspicious she is seeing someone else and maybe I'm a back up. If it's this difficult to talk to her again and get another date, what's the point? It sucks because I had a good time and she seemed to as well. The other woman lives about an hour away so it's not like we can just meet after work or something so that kind of sucks.

I asked her about seeing a movie since she had mentioned that when we first met.

So she finally gets back to me and wants to meet. We agree on a day and I ask her what she would like to do. She asked what I thought so I made a suggestion. Nothing. Is this some game? Is this what they call playing hard to get? I liked our first meeting but this is becoming too much work. Meanwhile I have been chatting with another woman. She is kind of far away so I'm not sure how that will work.

So she texted back and we had a little back and forth. I asked about meeting again and she said she would like that a lot. I then asked her when she is available and gave a suggestion of something we can do. This was Monday and I received no response yet. Not sure what I'm supposed to do now. I assume the ball is in her court so I just wait and move on if no response?

Text sent. I guess I wait and see.

Still haven't heard anything back. She said she was going to text me. Is she waiting for me to text? Have I waited too long or not long enough? I'm not sure what to say.

She said she was going to text me. That's why I'm nervous making the first contact. I don't want to come off as desperate.

I have to say everything went well. We ended up talking for about an hour and a half. She was the one who brought up going out a second time and asked when I would be available. She is going to text me perhaps this weekend or next week.

Planet Fitness?
Did my second workout. Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty which was nice. I ended up doing chest press, leg press, underhand delt row. Then shoulder press, calf extensions, low back extension. Then chest flys, leg curls, and overhand delt rows. My plan was to do 3 sets of each but got tired after 2. Since it is only my second time I'm going to build up to 3 sets of each at about 12 reps. I probably could have done a little more weight but I'll build up to that. My legs and arms aren't nearly as sore as the first day. So far I'm liking Planet. Worth the $10.

Planet Fitness?
Did my first workout today. Place wasn't too busy. There was two of every machine so there wasn't a wait for machines. I fumbled around a bit getting the lay of the land. I was a bit surprised by how little weight I could lift. Used to lift a lot more in high school. This was more an orientation. I still think I got a good workout. Not sore yet but my arms and legs are tired. I couldn't do lat pulldowns. My ass was hanging off the seat. Have to lose some more weight before I can do them. I ended up doing chest press, shoulder press, chest flys, leg press, calf raises, low back extensions, and delt rows. Didn't do leg curls because it looked like I couldn't fit in the machine. I'm going back Sunday. Since this was my first time lifting in a long time, I'll give an extra day.

I noticed there was a giant box of Cheez Its behind the counter. I just want to go there to lift so the gimmicks don't bother me. Didn't notice any bodybuilder types. There were some fit people but I would say most were normal to overweight. The location is ideal for me. It's 2.5 miles away and I can get there by taking all side streets so come spring I can ride my bike there.

Planet Fitness?
Checked out Planet. Decided to go with them. They had a wide assortment of people. I had been driving by checking the parking lot and today was the busiest I had ever seen it. Took the tour and all the machines were available. Some of the downsides is there are some winners. One woman was just camped on the leg press playing with her phone. They had all the machines that LA had. Weight is weight. I'll pay less for the weight.

Planet Fitness?
I'm assuming Planet is staffed 24 hours so I can show up at night and get a tour? Don't really have time during the day. Think I may go there tonight and check it out.

I think I'll try my city community center. I can get a one day pass for $5. It also includes access to the pool and Water exercise classes. I think I'll go tomorrow and pay $5 and then decide.

Planet Fitness?
Stopped by LA today. It was pretty busy. They gym looked nice but their appeared to be waits for some machines. There seems to be a lot of hate for Planet but mostly from bodybuilder types. Seems biggest complaints are not enough heavy enough dumbbells and no deadlifts. That's fine since I'm too inexperienced to do that anyways. It's not the gym that makes you fit but the person.

Planet Fitness?
I'm also at a loss for how to go about strength training. I want to focus on the whole body and there are about 8 to 10 different exercises I want to do. If I do about 10-12 reps of each, that's probably only about 30 minutes. Is that enough? Should I do two sets of each exercise?

The pizza thing doesn't bother me. Planet has some cheesy things, but I'm just there to lift. Weight is weight. LA Fitness near me wants $30 a month plus a $100 fee. That's basically the entire year contract at Planet in one month. LA Fitness here is a lot busier than Planet. There isn't a YMCA close enough. Checked the Gold's Gym website and there isn't one within 25 miles. I've narrowed it down to LA, Planet and my city rec center. Planet is the cheapest and the best location. LA isn't far either but more expensive and busier. The city rec center is also more expensive. I've heard good things about it but it is smaller and does not have long hours.
