How long until mushies?
Im one week post-up and going nuts. Even the baby food looks like the most amazing food ever. How long did you wait until mushies? And how long did the Doc want you to wait? For some, they are 2 diff questions.

How long until I can take a hot bath?
My Doc said something about not submerging myself in hotwater post op. I was so tired and wacky that I don't remember the details. Anyone know how long it is until you can take a hot bath or something?

What WON'T you do to reach your goal weight?
Um, yes. You are a success and even successful people make bad eating choices from time to time. And thats perfectly ok as long as you do it in moderation. Push it too far and it might get unhealthy, both fpr your body and mind. I got my band just to be healthier, not to be a model.

bandisized wednesday 2 jan 08
I got banded 2 days before you can I am also feeling the hunger, especially in the evening. Stick to the liquid cause someone local that had the band for 2 weeks had some chili and reacted to it. She ripped apart inside  Not trying to scare anyone, just remember that we are healing. I find popsicles help and bulion cubes with hunger (sometimes)

Allergic to Protien powders !! Need help!
I tried Whey and my throat closes a bit (I have this reaction to a lot of foods too) I tried Soy and my lips swelled a lot. I can't win. The Optifast shakes have no bad effects, but I need more protien. Anyone have any ideas what I can do? This is getting expensive.

Obama won Iowa...woot
Im doing great. Moved too much today so I got sore. I find that Im allergic to a lot of protien powder (tried Soy and Whey) and both have issues.

Obama won Iowa...woot
222,000 Democratic Votes 114,000 Republican Votes 38% went to Obama with 30% to Edwards, 29% to Hilary 34% to Huckabee, Romney at 25%, and Thompson at 13% I know it's not Lap Band related, but I'm ready for change.

Do Not Eat During Your Liquid Stage Post Op!!!
Especially if you want to eat chili. Just had a chat with my docs. They banded someone two weeks ago who descided to try a little chili. She though it would be find if she chewed it up real nice. Well her body rejected it and she started to vomit. She reacted so hard that she tore up her insides really bad and had to go to ER. It litterally ripped her apart inside. She is now in the hospital after some MAJOR reconstructive surgery. So PLEASE follow your doctor's rules.

Minutes away from getting my band
I dont really feel it. It's more like Im aware that its there, but post-op I wasn't even 100% sure they installed it other than I had band-aids on my stomache.

3rd day after and starving.
I wont cave since I want everything to heal properly, it just sucks. Helps to complain about it online Im just looking forward to food again.

Completely opening the band
To be honest, Im hoping to deflate my band when I reach a healthy size. Im not going for what my doctor considers a great weight, Im going for a healthier me. Once I loose and learn, I plan to rejoin the human race. But thats how I feel right now. I might get so used to having the band that it may be second nature later in life. Too early to say, but at least I have those options.

worried!!!
I asked my doc about if the liver was large, would they cut me open. They assured me that they would not cut me open and that it would be fine. You're only 2 years older than me and they let me know that at our age, we recover wonderfully.

I Did It, Now What
I also had my lap band installed on the 31st. Watched the fireworks from my hospital room. It hurt a lot yesterday, but today I feel fine as long as the pain meds stay in check. Lots of gurgles in my stomache. I find myself having a hard time remembering to drink constantly. I can't wait to have the liquid stage over

feelin' Blue
Im 3 days in and its hard now. A lot of people will tell you that you will feel better after loosing the weight. Thats NOT my motivation. I have to be honest, I will be loosing weight, I will be eating healthy, but not 100% of the time. Im thinking one day a week is my day. I wont e able to overeat, but I will choose what I want over what I should have for one day. Its to keep sanity. Most people with successful diets will tell you the same. Im hungry, and blue too, but I am looking forward to my tuna sushi when the time comes. Its hard, but you are not alone.

worried!!!
I have to be honest, I wasn't able to follow it to the T for sure. 2 days before my surgery, I had a nice big steak with mashed potatos. I did loose 12 lbs first to help with my liver, but I started my diet too early, so it was hard.

Need Advice!
Every person I know who dieted, gained it back with extras. Your body thinks you are starving when you diet so it stores fat with less calories each time. The nice thing is if (when) you loose the 30, it will stay off. The Lap Band has a fast recovery (Im on day 3 after my surgery and dont hurt very much at all), completely reversable (you can simply delfate it in emergencies), it has the same success rate as bypass in 1-2 years, and has far less complications from what I can tell. Good luck on your journy and congrats on your success against cancer.

3rd day after and starving.
This is very hard. I really wish I didn't have a kitchen at the moment. I cried a little bit since I will never have a full slice of cake, a sweet potato, a 9oz steak. I never hated myself for being overweight, just worried about my heart in the future. How do you get by? I just started my clear liquid stage, so I dont know how I will continue without going crazy. I HATE feeling hungry which is why I went with the Lap Band. Dieting ALWAYS made me miserable since I was always hungry. I'm depressed at the moment. I hope it passes soon.

Feeling full, stuffed, or not wanting to puke
It's times like these that I really wish I didnt have a kitchen. Hungry....
-
Feeling full, stuffed, or not wanting to puke
Needed to know (probably should have asked BEFORE the surgery, but whatever) When you can eat solids, do you feel stuffed, full, or do you never feel full (just not hungry)? I was told countless times from my Dr.s that I would feel full ("stuffed") on very little food. But the problem is, they don't have bands themselves, so how would they know? So I thought I would ask here.

How much do you drink in in a sip?
Im supposed to get as much fluids (mostly water) down as possible. But the doc said not to guzzle it down. How much is too much in a single gulp? I feel like this is taking forever.
