    Frustrated

Tomorrow is 3 weeks for me and the scale stopped moving. It makes me not want to eat the little bit that I have been.

    Back to Work

They gave me three weeks off. I go back Sunday and had surgery on 5/28. I went to my surgeon today and asked for an extra week due to fatigue. My surgeon said no and I am really upset

    Pre Op Hospital Visit

Hey there. I am doing well. I am about 16 days Post Op. I haven't had any problems.....almost no pain within 2 days, Have been able to get everything down so far that I have tried. I agree about the "exercise" instructor. It was the same when I went. She showed us a few things with the resistance bands but that was it. Did you see the nutritionalist Kristen? That is who I had and I liked her. I only had to go once though and she basically went over the pre op diiet and post op diet. She also went over what I was eating because I had stated a low carb diet and gave me a little advice. If your on facebook there is a private facebook page for Dr Phams patients. If your interested in joining message me your e-mail address. Do you have to have a supervised diet first?
  5. I see alot of people eat scrambled eggs on the puree stage. Do they have to be put in the blender or can we just chew the heck out of it? I don't start this stage until next week bt am trying to get prepared because to be honest I can't imagine blending meats and things! Seems icky! Also the Ricotta Bake that has been posted.....does that need to go into a blender once baked? Please put any recipes you enjoyed during this stage! Thanks in advance!

    May Sleevers...where are you?

I certainly wasn't expecting to be a May Sleever as I was expecting a June date but I am proud to join this group! My date is May 28th! I start the pre op diet on the 14th. My pre op diet is 2 shakes, 2 snacks off of a small list and 2 oz meat and a cup of veggies for dinner.

    Initial consult

How did it go?? It went even better then I could have asked for. They feel the sleeve is my best option like I do! I loved everyone at the office. The surgeon has a great personality and is so knowledgeable. I am hoping this process goes as smoothly and quickly as it seems like it will. I have an appt for my EDG next week! I have my psych appt the week after. I have my pre op exercise class scheduled. The only thing I need is my nutritionalist appt which I am waiting for a call back! And then I have my next appt with the surgeon on April 13th! They said If I have all the appointments and lab work done then they will submit right after for the insurance!

The Waiting is driving me CRAZY!

I am just starting the whole process. I only went to the seminar and yesterday I went to a support group (required by my surgeon). I have my consult with him on Friday so am hoping to have a complete list and to be able to make appts/etc. They have a 2 month pre surgical weight maintenance requirement through the surgeons office so I am hoping that when i go to that viit that can be the start. I would love to have everything done by end of may and submitted to have surgery in June/july. I hope this week goes fast. There is a list on my portal of his website, a checklist and there arent a lot of steps. He require a pre surgery exercise class that I will attend this month, the psych, and nut visit. I was told that at my consult he may want me to complete other steps.

    Met with my PCP

I am pretty new to all this. I have been doing a lot of research that past few weeks and have a consult with a surgeon next week. (Dr Pham, if anyone is from Buffalo and has had him please PM me!). Anyway I had to find a new PCP because mine is now practicing about an hour away. I was worried on what she would say about wanting the surgery and if she would go along with it. I was worried she would want me to try other things under her care first and delay the process. The appointement ended up going great. She at first was a little concerned that I wanted to have surgery when I have no health issues besides joint pain from being overweight. After I told her about all my attempts and the fact that my mothers side of the family has heart and diabetes issues she said she would support this! She told me she would do whatever they needed her to do and after I see the surgeon to let her know. I am relieved that she is in my corner and I believe I made the right choice in a new primary doctor!

Anyone From Buffalo, Ny Out There?

I have been reading the boards for a few weeks but figured it was time to chime in! I am in Cheektowaga and I am planning on going with Dr. Pham. I would love to hear from those who also went to him. I heard he has a great personality and is very compassionate. How long was your process with him from your first consult until surgery? I am hoping for surgery sometime in June so the weather is nice for lots of walking. What was the consult appt with him like? I have my appt next week with him. What are the steps after that? On my checklist on his patient portal it says 2 month weight management program....what does that entail? How was St Joes for the surgery? Sorry for all the questions, I am both excited and nervous. I have a friend who went through Synergy and at first that was going to be the route I was going to go. I took their online seminar. I sent in my paperwork and then called them to schedule an appointment. I don't like that you can't call and talk to somebody but you have to leave a message. After some more research I decided against them. I am sure they are great but I read that Dr Carvetta is very serious with not a great bedside manner and I heard it is hard to get in with Dr Cauruna. I could not be happier since switching to Dr Pham so far. I have not met him yet but I posted on the groups facebook for feedback and Vu from his office contacted me right away and answered all my questions. I went to the seminar and was so impressed with everyone there. There was a new surgeon working with him that was at the seminar, he was also very nice and knowledgeable. I am going to a support group this Saturday and then my appt with Dr Pham next Friday. How often are the post op appointments with Dr Pham? Does he do them or is a nurse?
