Hypothyroidism
So I had told my surgeon that I have hypothyroidism when I first saw him. I had my labs done and my TSH came back as 10.93. About 2 weeks ago my PCP did up my dose because it was high. Will my surgeon still do this surgery if my thyroid is still high? I know WLS would definitely help with lowering my hypothyroidism and I've been battling this for 4 years now and my PCP keeps on having to change the dose.

psychology consult time
Where I live they require you to have 2 visits with the psychologist, 1 hour long. I had my first visit Monday and was about 45 min. She gave me the questioner to take home to do then bring it back the following visit.

POLL: How true did you follow the pre-op liquid diet?
Where my husband and I are going they don't require to do the pre-op diet. Just two day liquid diet before surgery.

What did your family say?
My husband knows obviously. I also told my sister in which she did have the bypass about 3 years back. Thinking I would get support from her because she went through it, I don't. I'm 5ft and have a BMI of 40.6. She feels that I don't need it. Now my sister is 5'1 and use to weigh close to 300lbs. I think she thinks it's a competition with her. I ain't competing against anyone. My family history is obesity. She don't realize that I have hypothyroidism and Polycyctic ovaries. All I wanted was her support but all I get from her is a negative attitude. I told my friend who also had the surgery and she's excited for me.

What was the hardest part of your decision?
I really didn't have a hard time with making a decision. I'm 33 and have been trying to conceive for almost 8 years. With numerous attempts of IVFs I did become pregnant until 9 weeks later when I lost my precious twins. At that point I developed depression over losing my babies. Resorting to overeating. With my polycystic ovaries it became hard for 1 to lose weight and 2 to become pregnant. But what really broke me was when my insurance company denied me for another IVF treatment and that i had 5% chance at conceiving. This is when I realized that my dreams of becoming a mother had come to an end. Again I began overeating. This past December my husband decided he wanted the be sleeved and I that point I also made the decision to get sleeved 1 for my health and 2 to start a family we've been so long struggling to create. I'm so ecstatic that medicine came up with this tool. It's a second chance and it gives me hope. :-)

Any May 2015 Sleevers? Or advice for them?
I'm new here too. I met with my surgeon today for the first time face to face. We don't have a date yet but I'm thinking the surgery is in May.
