  1. I thought about going on an eating binge for a few months until I reached that magic number...but instead I just did self-pay and got it done. I agree it is wrong to defraud the insurance company...but at the same time, a man who has been 100 pounds overweight for years and years should still qualify even though the bmi is lower than what the insurance companies set.
  2. Got my band in Mexico by Dr. de la Garza. No problems after ~1 year.
  3. I used Belighter back in July of 2005. They took care of everything and there was someone waiting for me at the airport in Monterrey. I also used Dr. de la Garza and he was great. I am now 7 pounds short of goal after 1 year and I feel great. So, maybe things have changed at Belighter since then but all I can say is good things about them. John - Banded 7/14/05 288/195/188
  4. I think the 11.5 (or the 12, as my doc said) includes the amount of saline in the tubing. So, the band itself hold 11.5 or 12 but you are only getting restriction from 10cc of that. John
