  2. I am 30 years old and am 8 months post bypass. I am in a relationship and we have been talking about having a baby in a year. Has anyone had a baby since their surgery? Any advice?
  3. I had surgery on May 4th too. At home feeling pretty sore but hoping it gets better tomorrow and each day that follows!

  5. Hey I'm Sarah! I just made it through all the hoops and got insurance approval. I have surgery date set for 5/4/15. I did the same thing as far as I started the process and then I stopped. I was planning on trying to get pregnant after I got married (I was engaged at the time) so I though I would do the surgery after...well then the engagement ended and so I decided to go for it. I'm so excited for my surgery!

  7. So I had a similar situation. Last year I was on the Depo shot which stopped my period. I got off the shot and was not taking any birth control. It took about 2 months and when my period came back it was very similar to what you are saying. Finally for about 2 months straight I had heavy bleeding. I went to my Dr. and she explained to me that when you have a period there is a lining that sheds in your ovaries. When you stop having a period for any reason that lining does shed and it builds up. So when you finally start having a period again you have to shed all the linings that have built up and your period can last a long time until you are done. This could be the same issues you are having after weight loss your period kicked back in and now your shedding the built up linings.
  8. I am having RNY on May 4th. My biggest concern right now is having extra sagging skin. Any tips on how to minimize or avoid this?
  9. I have the Nexplanon implant. I have not had children yet and my Dr said that Mirena is not recommended unless you have already had kids. I have had no weight gain with Nexplanon. It lasts for 3 years and it has also stopped my periods like the Depo shot used to. It is about the size of a match and gets implanted in the inside upper arm (near the bicep). My arm looked bruised for a week after insertion but it didn't hurt. Insertion was uncomfortable but if you have had a tattoo you can handle the pain. Now they say that it can be less effective in Obese women...but I've found it to be very effective.
