  1. My surgery is set for this Monday June 15th at 10:30am! I'm a little nervous and don't know what to expect Can anyone share their experience for what their surgery date was like? They told me to come in 2 hours early to prep but I'm not sure what kind of prep they will be doing. Any advice is welcome. Thank you in advance.
  2. I sort of figured I might be sleeping a lot as well. My mom's friend got the surgery and was on bed rest for some time, but I was hoping it wouldn't be the same for me. For my cousin's birthday, she has planned going to the beach, paintball date, she wants me to take her to two new restaurants (I won't be eating of course but that's fine with me), and she wanted to go to a club. I'm starting to think maybe all of this isn't realistic? Thanks for answering
  3. Hi! I'm scheduled to get my surgery the second week of June. There's just one problem. My cousin is coming to stay at my house to Celebrate her birthday for two weeks, starting the day of my surgery. She doesn't know I am getting the surgery that week though. Do you all think I'll be able to celebrate with her? I know I won't be eating solids, but I'm wondering do you all think I will be able to move around and feel comfortable? I don't want her to have a terrible birthday because of me.
  4. My doctor was supposed to schedule me for the sleeve this month.... but it seems like things are lost in translation. For a whole torturous month now, I'm waiting for my doctor to send over my 6th month weigh in but she hasn't done anything yet. I'm starting to get antsy. I have called her numerous times to get the ball rolling, but it's always some excuse or another. I was called by the surgeon's office yesterday that everything is ready to be sent over to the insurance except for the 6 month paper work. I don't know what to do. I don't want to be annoying and keep calling... although it is stressful how close I am but yet so far away. It gives me anxiety lol
  5. Hey all! I'll be getting the surgery this month and am wondering how do you eat around other people? I know you have to eat your food very slowly and wait at least 30 minutes before you drink... how is this when you eat around other people or even when eating out at a restaurant?
  6. Thanks for the reply, Veronica! My insurance was willing to do the surgery for me and I did everything they asked me to do... But last minute, they said they wanted me to have weight loss progress for 6 months. I showed them my progress from the last 6 months but they told me they wanted me to start from this month. It's kind of annoying and has brought my spirits down. I am thinking about definitely paying out of pocket, I might go with the medical loan like you did. I just feel so lost in the process but thank you so much
  7. I was wondering if anyone is paying out of pocket and how that process is going for them?
  8. I'm looking forward to not feeling afraid that the roller coaster belts won't close I also want to go hiking and bungee jumping.
