  1. I haven't been able to drink plain Water since surgery. It's a bummer because I loved ice water. Then I discovered Tazo Passion Iced Tea and it's all I drink. There's no caffeine, no sugar, and no calories. You can also get it at Starbucks, which is nice if I'm out and about.
  2. Here is their policy, which hasn't changed since my surgery in July: https://cignaforhcp.cigna.com/public/content/pdf/coveragePolicies/medical/mm_0051_coveragepositioncriteria_bariatric_surgery.pdf
  3. I had my surgery back in July, so I have no idea if anything has changed since then but there was nothing about this in their specifications when I went through it. It just said I needed to have 3 monthly weigh-ins in no less than 89 days, there was nothing about how spaced out they had to be. My first appt was on March 10 and my final appt was on June 15. You should just look it up.
  4. 204.8 I'm coming for you, Onederland!
  5. I have Cigna and everything went very smoothly. After I met all my requirements it only took two days for them to approve my surgery. Good luck everyone!
  6. Wow. On what planet is 40 pounds in 8 weeks slow? I would be jumping for joy with that amazing progress! And to think, I've been thrilled with 70 pounds in 6 months. I would actually say that 40 pounds in 8 weeks would qualify as rapid weight loss. Good for you.
  7. I'm doing awesome. I'll be 6 months on the 27th and I'm down 96 pounds and I feel so great. My change in confidence is amazing. Getting sleeved was the best thing I've done and I just wish I'd done it sooner!
  8. I love love love H&M. As a bonus they are wicked cheap! I bought the cutest top the other day for $9.99. That same top would have been $44.99 at Torrid! Target has cute stuff too.
  9. I'm in! My goal weight is 199. I'm pumped just thinking that I could be in Onederland by Valentine's Day!
  10. 211. I don't know what I was thinking when I set my goal of 199. There was no way I was going to hit that! But I'm really happy because I did hit 90 pounds gone forever! Happy New Year everyone!
  11. I found some photos from July 2014 and I'm mortified. I can't believe that was me. But that's the old me and I'm not going to dwell on it! -90 pounds and still chugging along!
  12. Happiness is being able to shop in any store. Clothes are so much cheaper now!
  13. I didn't even bring 5 things. I brought my phone and an extra long charger, a brush, and lip balm. I wore loose comfy clothes in and wore the same ones home. The hospital gave me a small pillow to hold on the ride home. They also provided slipper socks. I wore the hospital gown and then put another on backwards as a robe when I was walking the halls. There was a never a time where I wished I'd brought something that I didn't.
  14. I forgot to post on Monday. My weight was 216.4. And congrats, Steph! Your announcement pic is adorable!
  15. I went to a big family party at 4 days post-op. Nobody knows I had surgery so I did say I wasn't feeling well when I first went in, just to cover why i might be moving more slowly or not eating like normal. I did take a plate of food at dinner but I just moved things around and put my fork to my mouth a few times. I've been to many family parties since and I've noticed that nobody pays attention to what other people are doing during meals. Nobody has ever questioned why I have such a small plate of food or why I have so much left over at the end. I say go if you're feeling up to it.
  16. I brought lip balm, a brush, my phone, and an extra long charger. That's it. I wore comfy clothes in and wore the same clothes home.
  17. It took 80 pounds before I got my first (and only) comment! It was actually quite discouraging because it made me think I didn't look much different than I did at 300 pounds. But on Thanksgiving I got my first comment and it Just made my day.
  18. -80 lbs and gaining confidence every day. I know it's weird to be wearing a coat in a progress pic because it adds bulk but I was feeling cute, which is something I haven't felt in a very very long time.
