    PCOS Question!

Hello! I am a new pre op member and had a question about fertility. I am scheduled for my sleeve 03/02 and was wondering about contraceptives. My significant other and I are currently 'gambling' in the protection dept, with minimal fear of conception. Due to my PCOS, I suffer from amenorrhea, so we aren't to concerned about me ovulating right now. I have read stories of women saying they are asked to not take their BCP weeks leading up to surgery because of the blood clot risk. Did any of you take other precautions if so what? When did you start it? Thank you in advance!
  2. Boarded on the plane headed to San Diego. Stomach is tied in knots I'm so nervous. Makes the clear liquid thing pretty easy since I'm too anxious to want food anyway! Lol I can't wait!
  3. Day 4 pre op today. The lack of food and cigarettes is taking a toll on me mentally. I'm not cheating per se, but my evening salad could be a bit slimmer and nutritious. Good luck to all! Pray for those around me, 'cause my cravings may very well be the death of them (kidding of course)
  4. My surgery is on March 2, I'm on day 4 of pre op and I feel like I'm dying. No food, no smoking, it's awful. I told my fiancé "This Protein shake tastes like I'd rather be fat." ???? Good luck to everyone! God knows I could use some encouraging right about now!
  5. I'm scheduled for March 2 in TJ! I start my pre op diet tomorrow. So excited and nervous and scared and ready for it to be here. 2 weeks without food and cigarettes has me a little nervous, I mean if I had that kind of will power I wouldn't be needing this in the first place LOL. I know I can do it and I know it will all be worth it once I reach my goal. Good luck everyone!

I am having surgery in Mexico

I am scheduled for March 2 with Dr. Ortiz through A Lighter Me. This will sort of double as a honeymoon for my fiancé and I as we are planning on eloping the weekend before the procedure. I'm 27yo and am so very ready for this change in my life. I am also filled with excitement and anxiety as the date gets closer. I just want to love myself as much as I love the rest of my life. I want to start my marriage off a newer healthier me. Good luck to you! I would love to have fellow WLS people I can relate to pre and post op for support!
  7. I will be there all of those days too!
  8. Hello! I was wondering if anyone that has had/is going to have their procedure done outside of the U.S. has heard of physicians refusing to treat patients? It seems like that's been the response when I tell people I am going out of the country for my surgery they tell me that I won't be able to find a doctor to treat me when I return, should a complication arise. Is this true? To me it seems like a violation of the Hippocratic oath, just wondering if anyone else had gotten that kind of reaction...?

  11. I'm scheduled with Dr. Ortiz on 03/02. I'm working with Katy at A Lighter Me after months of tedious research on getting the procedure done. It's actually going to double as a honeymoon for me, because we are planning on eloping the weekend we head down there! I'm so nervous already but I'm also MORE than ready to make this change in my life.
