    Happiness is ...

I actually recently had to ask "what's the smallest size you have?" at Torrid, because I love their clothes but I'm too small for them now. I feel your pain on that, I miss shopping there. I'm going to look at Hot Topic since Torrid is there sister store and see if I like their clothes.

@@changebeganthisyear Try the protein called nectar, you can find it online. .. it's not add much protein as some of the others, but it tastes like juice (not to sweet though) and isn't thick and chalky. Also Google the world according to eggface she had some protein shake recipes that are pretty good.

I am on day 31 since surgery. My doctor has me on stage 4 which means I can eat regular meals again. I found a lot of great recipes online and on Pinterest. My weight loss already feels like it stalled a little or slowed down drastically. I knew it would happen eventually but still frustrating. I am sticking 100% to diet. Going to join gym next week now that i have the okay, and hopefully that will help. How is everyone else doing so far?
  5. Hey all, I could use some encouraging words or advice from those who have been down this path. I am 10 days out, and really struggling with phase 2. My doctor has phase 2 as strained creamed soups, Greek yogurt, cream of wheat liquified with skim milk, protein shakes, and water. I can't eat anything else until day 15. I am so sick of what I am allowed to have that I dread eating. I know it is only 5 more days but I have been struggling for days already and it is just getting worse. I am craving cottage cheese and more flavorful foods I just want to cry. I really need to know how others got through this phase without going nuts lol. Thanks in advance for listening to my rant.

Doing good here @@GeminiSleever how are you doing?
  7. Hey I am considering getting one of those devices that make vegetables, like squash and zucchini, into spaghetti shapes. There is a bigger variety than I thought and a lot of the amazon reviews sound like they were paid to put them lol. Has anyone purchased one of these, and if so what kind did you get? Thanks

I got the vegetable slicer in the mail today. Let you all know what I think after I have had time to play with it m
  9. @@ProjectMe @@BLERDgirl I found that blog by eggface, abs some awesome Pinterest recipes. My kids and I are trying a mock (noodle and meat free) lasagna for dinner. I am doing better with the variety I can have now... my only struggle is I still can't get a full 4 oz of food in. I an doing good with liquids and the nectar protein, just struggling with solids. I know I'm still healing though so not stressing it, I am letting my body guide me. Thanks for all the advice
  10. anxious to go back to work Tuesday. I am nervous to get through the first week and maintain my schedule. I know I can do this and I have a great support system at the office.

Good luck at the follow up, I still struggle with the water, but only because I have discovered most waters have a funky taste to me now, not sure why so trying to get creative and trying different brands.

Welcome @@wendyf4 we are open to everyone how are you doing so far?
  15. @@HaddocksEyes thanks, I am not trying to jump ahead of schedule, as apparently has been assumed by others on this post it is hard. I didn't expect it to be easy, but I wasn't expecting the intolerance for dairy I suddenly have now. And certain flavors are causing bad reflux despite the medication I am on. I am more limited than I expected I guess is my point. I did finally find a soup flavor I really like so I'll be adding that in to my daily regiment. I really want to change. My nutritionist put it perfect the other day, this surgery is like breaking up with a bad boyfriend. You can kick him out of the house but if you keep answering his calls your are never going to get anywhere. Thanks again to everyone for the kind words I needed to know that you all got through it and I will too
  16. Thanks everyone for understanding, it is nice to have people who understand to lean on. I'll keep trying with the different soups. Thanks guys
  17. Vsgann I am well aware of that which is why I reached out for support instead of giving in to temptation... and 6 months from now if I am dumb enough to have one slice of pizza and want another I will do the same thing reach out for support. I mean really...I thought this forum was for support not harsh words like suck it up.

People really don't understand the struggle if they have never lived it. The uneducated think the surgery is easy, but it is not as easy as they think it is. Just ignore them and know you are doing the right thing for you. My husband is trying to be supportive, but he doesn't get it. So far he had eaten pizza, oreos, hot dogs, and ice cream in front of me...ugh.

I am not doing too bad. It is definitely a struggle to get through this stage of the diet so I suggest get as much variety as you can. The more flavors you can offer yourself the better it will be. It's a rough two weeks, but I have been losing a consistent pound a day so I just keep focus on that. Also once you are up to it, occupy your time. I made the mistake of just laying around watching TV the first week which made it drag out so long. This week I intend to get out of the house and do things.

I had mine done on 1/29, I live in Ocean County and wouldn't mind making this a 3 way support group
  21. Pre-op was rough on me too, but I just did the best I could to stick to it. I an a week post op now, and I have no regrets. I just can't wait till I can easy something other than yogurt. I know everyone says it, but it matters.... after surgery hydrate and walk is the most important thing. It must be hard to be doing this alone. I have semi young kids and my hubby who are trying to be supportive, but they don't fully get it. Good luck let me know if you have specific questions... keep moving forward we can do this!

  24. I used Dr Abkin in Florham Park, and had my procedure at the Florham Park surgical center... the entire staff was amazing, and accommodating as much as possible considering my two hour drive.. when it looked like snow would delay my procedure, I reached out to his staff on a Sunday abs not only received response from his new patient coordinator, but Dr Abkin himself called to discuss options...
