I was told at the support group meeting to always have a pillow in front of you if they are near you- you know how those elbows can be weapons!! Ouch!!

I am scheduled on Monday for RNY and have a 3 year old that weighs almost 27 pounds ( yes, she's a peanut ). We flew in a friend to help and my husband took off a couple weeks from work because my surgeon said no lifting more than 10 pounds for a month. Not sure about the sleeve surgery. I would call the office to make sure. Good luck !! ????????

Thanks everyone!! Going to keep up with fluids and rest as much as I can with a toddler!! I have 6 days to get over this- so far not too bad, just a mild sore throat and tired. I always have a cough but it's not productive. Hopefully things will work out !!!

I am doing good.. Have lost 7 pounds but not required to follow liquid diet. My doctor just requires high protein and low carb. Clear liquids the day before surgery. Can't believe we are so close!!!!!

I have my surgery scheduled for next Monday March 16th and my three year old has a cold!!!! Woke up this morning with a slight sore throat!! So scared I'm going to be sick and have to reschedule my surgery over a little cold!! We are flying a friend in Thursday and my husband already scheduled his leave to start this weekend!! Sooooo stressed!!! Help !!!

Had my first consult on Jan 16th and surgery is Monday March 16th- exactly 3 months !!! ????

I had my pre-op labs and CXR done today!! Need to return to lab on the 13th for Type & Screen. Of course, my luck, I woke up with a toothache!!! Worst timing and can't get into the dentist until Thursday I explained my position with the surgery and they said they should be able to handle worse-case scenario with no problem in time for surgery !! Yayyyyyyy !!!!!!! Hopefully, this will be my only roadblock! How is everyone else doing ? ????????

My surgery is scheduled for March 16th !! I am also an RN and I am sure losing weight and increasing my energy will help tremendously with my career !! Keep me updated !!!

This is what I found at GNC- my nutritionist said it was perfect!!

Awesome !! Can't believe how close we are !!! Have pre-op tomorrow We shall see what diet they put me on. The booklet says they ask for a low carb, high protein diet until the day before surgery. I have started substituting meals with proteins shakes. Getting nervous !!! Keep me updated on your progress !! ????

I never have a problem meeting my deductible early in the year being a type 1 diabetic lol !! So that's already done !! My doctor doesn't require a liquid diet, just high protein, low carb and clear liquids the day before surgery. At least that's what the booklet he gave me says, I'm sure I will find out more tomorrow at the pre-op with him and the nutritionist.

Wow, so sorry about your insurance issues but glad you found a way to make it happen!!! When they told me I had out of pocket expenses, I was convinced I would have to come up with $10,000 lol. Good luck with your journey- you are 2 days after me!!! Keep us updated !!

I know!!! I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow (weather permitting) we got 8 inches of snow today! Also going to fly a friend out from CA to help me with my 3 year old while my hubby is at work. I feel like I have so much to do!! I was looking around the forum last night and starting reading the complication posts and scared myself to death!! Had nightmares about my teeth falling out all night!! But hopefully all will go well and we will be on our way to a new healthy life !!! Good luck and keep me updated!!!

Hmmm I asked the insurance company if there were any other expenses and she said everything else is covered because my husband is active duty military. But I will definitely ask the coordinator when I meet with her on Friday !!! Thanks so much!!!

Got my surgery date today!!! Initially given March 11th- but my husband can't get off work that day. I am so filled with a variety of emotions!!! Scared, anxious, excited and overwhelmed to name a few!!!! Have my pre-op in 2 days- hopefully they will explain what I need to do to prepare !!! And so it begins......... ????
