I have the Mirena also and haven't had period in almost 7yrs, but right after surgery it came on. I was told it was the hormone changes, but I hope this does not continue.
I was approved for surgery and scheduled my date (April 14th) but the MD office got approval for the sleeve (which was what I wanted originally) and I now want the bypass.
The surgical coordinator says it shouldn't be a problem to get the bypass approved (I have BCBS Highmark). I am concerned.
Has anyone had this happen to them?
Thank you Bellabloom. I do suffer with heart burrn/ acid reflux and don't wish to have it be worse.
My doctor did say the rny would give me more weight loss too.
I am at the end of my 6 month process. I just have to complete 1 last nutritionist visit. I am 39 with htn, PCOS,sleep apnea, diabetes and high cholesterol. I was considering the sleeve, but my doctor feels like I would do better with the rny. I am just concerned about the after affects (malabsorption).
Thanks
