  1. Thanks its good to know that I am not crazy! I have the mask for the nostrils, its much better than the mask, my problem is the machine continues to ramp up during the night and it burns my nose and makes my ears hurt.... any suggestions? I really need to call the nurse I guess. I am supposed to wear it for 30 days and I have only accomplished 8 since last month. I don't want to hold up my surgery but this is sooo aggrevating! Thanks for the support! Are you in VA also?

  3. Congrats on your date!!! I missed my appointment last week with the surgeon. I had 2 appts. in one week and got the times mixed up :welldoneclap: So now I have to wait until the 21st. I guess it worked out because now I will get the Doc I initially wanted to see . Just found out that my insurance has changed my PCP so now I need to find out if I have to start all over again with a the new Doc or will the info. transfer. Anyone had that to happen? please advise I have United healthkeepers. This is really frustrating me not knowing what will happen.
  4. Hello, I have MD IPA also. I was trying to find someone with the same insurance plan for advice. they did tell me te I had to go through a 6 month supervised loss program or a 3 month some other form which I reall didn't understand. How does this have to be documented if I have been trying to loose the weight due to my high blood pressure readings and borderline diabetic issues. Do you think I will still have to do the 6 month plan. I am just starting out. I attended the workshop Wednesday and my next appointment is to see the financial advisors at the docs office. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. thank You! Sosobizi
  5. Hi dee, yea I could imagine the feeling, but as you said goo things come to those who wait. What insurance carrier do you have? I am sure it will all be fine. Do you have a low BMI? Mine is 36 but I do have comorbidies, so hopefully all will be well. I have seen others with the same BMI and they were approved, I just hope that when my turn comes I don't get drama. Prayin for ya!! sosobizi
  6. Hello Tayln and Moongirl, I live in Portsmouth and am also going to Norfolk surgical group. I am going to the seminar this week. I was reffered by a friend of mine who is also a nurse lol. She reffered me to Dr. Wolgomuth. I wasn't familar with the other docs, so I took her advice because she actually worked alongside him during his residency at Sentara Norfolk Gen. Please give me any feedback you have on him and the group. I am nervous about the procedure also, but am determined to go through. I hope that my insurance approves everything. Anyone now about MAMSI MDIPA? Please keep in touch with me and I will do the same....I need the support! PS can you tell me about the charges for the fills. Thanks SOSOBIZI
  7. Hey Megan, and thanks for your post. I was feeling the same way you are. Everyone's words of encouragement truly speak to my heart. I fear the procedure but I fear mostly the thought of continuing with high BP and diabetes. I want to live a healthy life .... so I try to avoid the postings that give alot of post- op problems. I figure I'll save those for the time that I actually go through it. For now I want to interact with those that can offer me a support system to stay motivated until I can finally reach my banding date. I am just starting out so I have a ways to go. I have my reffereal and will be attending a seminar on Wednesday. Keeping my fingers crossed that I won't have problems with the insurance. Good luck and lets Keep in touck sosobizi:clap2:

  9. Hi TXCLLOE, i noticed your BMI is 36. My BMI is the same. I was wondering if your insurance gave you any problems with approving the surgery. I am praying that everything goes smooth for me. I am just beginning the process and I am worried about the insurance coverage. Anyone have any suggestions about what your can do if denied? Thanks, sosobizi
