  1. Yes, Sussex County here!!
  2. I had seen that some people had mentioned they had a drain. But my doctor did not need to put one in. Not sure why but the staff at the doctor's office and at the hospital all thought it odd to have a drain.
  3. Hi there!! I'm scheduled for June 12th!

  5. I've been trying to find the right Protein shake for after my surgery, although I have heard tastes will change after surgery. What I can tell you is that the Permier Protein shakes from WalMart are pretty good and high in protein. But still has that 'protien drink' taste. I also tried both powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolates, and although they are very good (especially as a hot chocolate!!) it still has that taste. But the Unjury chicken Soup is delicious and doesn't taste funny!!! And the Unjury strawberry sorbet is delicious!!! But I agree.....I would recommend you get the sample packs so you can make up your own mind! I haven't tried the vanilla or the unflavored yet, but I have the samples so I'll have to try it eventually! I plan on putting the unflavored into my delicious garlic soup!!! Good luck to you! Maria

  7. I had my consult yesterday....and I was thinking the same thing!! But I think what they basically want to hear is that you are aware that your food intake (quantity and quality) is what got me here and that I understand those things need to change after the surgery. At least that was my impression. Good luck to you!!

  9. Thank you!!! That makes me feel much better!!! We don't have a date yet....still working through the process, but I will definitely reach out to you!
  10. Thanks! Yes, we have two adult children who live with us, so we have someone to drive us to and from the hospital, as well as help around the house as needed. The doctor also said he has done couples before. I just wish we could share a room!
  11. Hi All!! Have any of you gone through the surgery with your spouse? We are planning to have the surgery done on the same day. My biggest concern, which some of you, if not all, may think is really dumb, but I hate tht we won't be able to be there for eachother when the other comes out of surgery. I have asked to share a room, doctor has said that cannot happen. But I have heard you are up and walking around that same day, so we could visit eachother after the fact. What do you all think? Does it make sense to do it all together? The best part of it would be that we would be on the same diets together!! That will be extremely helpful to both of us. Your thoughts are very much appreciated!! Maria
  12. My husband doesn't understand it either. Although he remains supportive!! I have tried to explain it a million times to no avail! But don't worry, there are many of us that completely understand your addiction!! I am praying this surgery will help me deal with mine!!! OA definitely helps!!!! If you can't get to a meeting, listen to a podcast!! Best of luck!! Maria
  13. Has anyone had their surgery performed at Newton Memorial in Newton, NJ? I am looking at having my surgery with Dr. Shomaf Nakjho, no date set yet, but wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this doctor and/or this hospital. Any information would be very much appreciated! Thanks! Maria
