August 5th sleevers? New here :)
Got Surgery date today! It will be August 24th. I was hoping it would've been a little sooner since I started at the end of January but I'll take it! Going to keep on losing on my own til it gets here! I'm 250 5' 5" (started at 299.8). I really want to be under 200 by Christmas!

I need to save $3,000 in 3 months
Im in similar boat. Surgery for me in August. Procedures like egd and psyc visit count toward deductible but you dont have to pay entire balance for them at once. I was able to pick up extra shifts for part. I considered having sleep study as well just to help meet deductible. Good luck!

Failing miserably ... 1 year post op
Up your calories for a day or 2 then drop back down. It's a way to tell your body you aren't starving. Works preop anyway. Good luck!

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
I haven't had surgery yet. I'm at the end of my 6 month of supervised dieting. I've lost 46 lbs preop so far. I am taking phentermine daily until surgery. I will have this surgery! I'm sick of NOT wanting to be seen! I have had invitations to parties and would love to visit where I grew up but the thought of anybody seeing what I've grown into is mortifing! Trying on 10 different outfits and just feeling defeated and then want to stay home. Not because I don't want to go but I don't want to be seen! Our breaktoom at work has chairs that sit right next to eachother. Filling out the seat completely and tucking arms in so you don't bump in to person next to you is a crappy way to spend your break! I eant so much better for myself! -for my children!-for my husband!!!

To MX Alone
I will be having surgery here bc insurance will cover most of it. I will be going to MX for skin removal as it won't be covered. MX can be great option! My surgeon spoke about doing revisions bc the previous surgeon didn't remove enough so I would definately ask that question to whoever you go to. Good luck with your journey!

My Surgery is Scheduled!
Congratulations! I found out today my insurance only needs 3 months of supervised diet instead of 6. I was ecstatic to hear the news! Hoping for mid April. Can't wait to do this thing;)

For newbies, I'm Just starting the process......wait a minute, that can't be right.
I decided I definately wanted surgery then went to seminar. Now I'm just starting the six month diet/exercise program. I've done so much homework on this and I'm a bit obscessed with peoples success stories. I hope I can lose some weight the mandatory diet and know I will be a success story with a little bit of time. I'm sick of the real me hiding inside of this fat suit. I want out! But I guess good things come to those who wait. Thanks recycled for the perspective. I hope zoom too;)

Curious-Is it hard to cook family meals after sleeve.
Thanks I will check those out for sure! It's been hard in past to diet while having to find things that family would eat. I don't want to be eating the wrong things. I guess my family shouldn't be eating those either but try expaining that to teenage football players-lol
