  1. Tom Umbach was my surgeon. I was given a folder with info on all the different types of surgery. He is a good surgeon but I'd say how he changed his mind on morning of surgery on the type when I was going to his office monthly for about 6 months and talked to him a few of those times just says he wasn't being very professional or respectful.

  3. Jamie I was tired as hell. I got more info from patient next to me then the surgeon. I was just so mad at surgeon and tired as hell that besides what I've said I don't even remember what surgeon said.
  4. Mae I agree. I hadn't slept much at all for few days before the date. I was tired as hell. He said from long story short I get the sleeve or go home. I told someone about it yesterday. She said surgeon was probably really busy and just wanted to do sleeve instead of gastric bypass because it's faster. My appt was @ 7. I was there @ 6 @ there was someone who got there after me but got it at 10.How's that possible I have no idea. I saw 2 or 3 more people get it before me. I just think it's because the surgeon was busier then he thought.
  5. Shanna it's the same with me. I have few sips of protein shake now and then and do best with water. I am always full never hungry. Only reason why I eat and drink water is because I know I need to. All I'm able to eat is maybe a spoonful or 2 of applesauce a day. I get light headed/dizzy when I'm up for a few minutes most of the time.
  6. I went to hospital and was supposed to get the gastric bypass on 2/12/15. For some reason my surgeon changed his mind and refused to give me the bypass insisting on giving me the sleeve. I in time agreed to it. My problem is I was studying and looking up info on the gastric bypass for months. I don't know much at all about the sleeve. I am happy with it though. Found out yesterday on 2/17 I had lost 20lbs!! That's 20lbs in 5 days. I didn't think that was even possible. Anyways....if anyone has any info or anything about the sleeve please do tell. I wish everyone luck on their choice, recovery and new life.
  7. Mary you made the right choice. I wish you the best in your recovery and weight loss journey. It might be hard the following days/weeks. It does it easier over time. Just remember sip! If you start having pains just take deep breaths. Oh yeah!! Don't forget to walk. Even if it's around your house. Listen to your body for everything from walking, eating drinking....
  8. Bad thing is that nurse said I was so dehydrated she couldn't give me the vitamin iv therapy. So had to schedule hydrating iv therapy for tomorrow. Then I will be given the vitamins after. I was so shocked when I found out I lost so much weight in so little time. Before surgery I couldn't lose that amount in an entire year!! Surgery was painful afterwards yes but is Soooooooo worth it.
  9. I had my surgery 2/12/15. I went to doc appt for my 1st iv therapy. I found out I lost 20lbs. When I saw that I was shocked.
