  1. I am on day 3 of my pre op liquid diet. I've been consuming 3 shakes a day, my vitamins, and my water. I've also been doing 1 cup of soup (broth and minestrone soup, as allowed). I had 2 incidents of mild dizziness today. Is this normal?
  2. Wearing shorts again proudly! And tank tops!
  3. Hey all, I'm pre op and preparing for my post op recovery. What Vitamins do you take daily and in what form (pill, liquid, chewables). I'll check with my NUT too.
  4. Day 1 and I'm craving a crunch of something. I had 3 shakes, tons of water, some spinach (plain), and 1 cup of minestrone soup (allowed on my diet). How many more days?!?!
  5. I'm on the 19th too! Getting excited and scared.
  6. I'm headed to the OCC with Dr. Ortiz on Feb 19
  7. I found a really good one at Target in their refrigerated section. The same brand makes smoothies too. I'll get the name for you. I have loved the chocolate flavor. I too struggled with this!
  8. I'm saddened for the responses, lol, but sushi won't keep me from my goals.
  9. I'm pre op and wondering if people post op are able to stomach sushi months post surgery.
  10. Surgery 2/19 I'm looking forward to not hiding in long sleeve clothes during the hot summer months and everyone looking at my like I'm weird. I'm looking forward to buying a swimming suit for the first time in a decade. I'm looking forward to setting a better health example for my daughter.
  11. Following. I suffer for the same thing! My surgery is 2/19 for WL. My mom, who had gastric bypass, and I call it "gallbladder dumping syndrome". So uncomfortable! The only time I didn't experience it was while pregnant - it made my stools normal!
  12. I'm afraid of the same thing. Such a newer procedure in terms of research - my understanding is we know little about what happens 10-20 years post surgery.
  13. My surgery is 2/19 and my NUT put me on Atkins until 2 weeks before, then I have to switch to liquid. But - since starting Atkins I feel like I smell badly. Like BO or onions or something. Anyone else have this experience?
  14. Absolutely! It is crazy. And trying this after my fill during Christmas is a bit rough. Alas, I will persist and it'll get better.
  15. Thanks for the encouragement too! Today has been much better! I had a wonderful omlet for breakfast and chicken and veggies for lunch. Dinner can be my protein shake. I went to the store and feel prepped for this week and bought a ton of different protein shakes and such to try. I too don't want my surgery rescheduled and would like to lose some weight before going. I think I'm struggling more with the lack of sugar than the lack of carbs.
  16. It got rescheduled But I found that the shakes aren't too awful for me if I load them with ice. I'm still struggling with the carbs. How are you going with that?
  17. Lol @ not quitting carbs! Sssooooo hard. I hope the pain of the surgery makes it easier post op, I'm assuming it will. I'm going to have to look into different protein. I'm using the one they said for us to order. I'm trying to experiment with it and find a way I like it. I figure I have the time now to play around with it. I hope your friend meets you there! I'm so mixed about going alone. I have my phone consult today with Dr. Ortiz.
  18. One more question - I've been using powdered shakes (I mix with skim milk and ice). Can I also use premixed shakes (in envisioning something like ensure that I refrigerate)?0
  19. I just wanted to say thank you for all the kind replies. I'm making a list of all of these suggestions to try! Thanks again.
