  1. I'm so glad you are on my same date. Sounds like you are doing incredible with pre op stuff. I'm struggling to cut out the carbs. I need to get it together. Tried my first shake yesterday and had a hard time drinking it. It tasted good but after taste was gross and made me gag. I'll try the chocolate today. I'm trying to make it my dinner. I'm not sure yet if someone is coming with me or I'm coming alone. I have a young child so I'd like my husband to stay out to be there for my daughter. But I don't like the idea of going alone. You? I've messaged someone else who got surgery there and she thought the drive would be do able. I figure I could stop as many times as needed to walk or sip some water.
  2. Great post Jamie! Thanks for sharing your experience.
  3. Help! I started replacing one of my meals with a protein shake per NUT's recommendations and I gagged through 1/2 it before I called it good. Anyone else have this problem? Any advise? The taste wasn't bad ... It was the after taste and the consistency I think. <> I know I need to learn to like it/tolerate it ... Please help. I have time to sort it out and find a good rhythm. Surgery isn't until mid February. I've pinterested ideas - anyone else done this?
  4. My date is February 19th!
  5. So glad to hear! I'm headed there in February.
  6. How exciting! My surgery is scheduled for the 19th too. I'm coming from NV, so thinking about driving there (only 5 hours from here). So excited and nervous. I'm struggling with pre op diet. I'm focused on trying to supplement with a shake (1 meal) starting tomorrow (got supplies today) and then focusing on Atkins after I get the hang out that. How are you doing?
  7. BShelmet, we may overlap! I'll be there 2/19 for my surgery.
  8. Anyone else scheduled for surgery 2/19? Interestingly, it is my wedding anniversary and gift to myself. Looking for a surgery buddy.
  9. I can relate. Many times I'll see a photo of myself and will be in disbelief it is me. <>
  10. Hi Everyone, I've been researching the gastric sleeve for a while now, finally decided to go for it, and picked my surgery date. I alter from being super excited to petrified by the hour. Tonight, I tried on some clothes for New Years and found myself internally checking off things I couldn't wear due to feeling like they don't look good on my body size. Next year, I vow to wear as many summer dresses as I can as a way to Celebrate my (hopeful) success post surgery. Any other moms out there? I'm a mom to a 3-year old and panic at the idea of complications. But, I also worry about the impact of my current size (and growing health concerns) for her future. I'm getting my surgery done in Mexico and it'll be the first time I'm away from her for that long (4 nights total).
