  1. jojo, I will let you know when I get the news. I'm sure everyone will know when I get the news! I just want my cell phone to ring and it be her and for her to say "don't change your vacation, you got the approval!" That's all I want to hear!!!
  2. Hi Jo-Jo I am in the process of having my surgery done by Dr. Ganta. Hopefully I will hear this next week! Yes, I was happy to see that there was multiple hospitals to have the surgery. When did you have your surgery? Congrats are in order...you are doing awesome! Charlah

Lonestar, I had my consulation with Dr. Ganta this past Thursday. I really did like him and his staff. They will have to get the denial from my primary insurance and then go through my secondary...hopefully I will be approved! Don't they have some sort of support group? I am in Leander.

TxBandit...doesn't the state insurance suck?! I am also from Austin and work with the state. I am starting the process! Congratulations on your surgery and your loss!

  6. I'm sure I'll be looking you up for any pointers/tips!
  7. Thanks Julie! I need all the luck I can get!!!
  8. That's great! I am so looking forward to January that I can't stand it! I would LIKE to have my surgery beginning of February as that is when I have a week off, but we'll see! When my friend had her surgery, (she has the same insurance), they gave her the approval in about 15 minutes! I told her that it was like applying for a credit card for her! haha With what I have read, when you have lost some weight, the sleep apnea will not be a problem! YEAH!!! Good luck!
  9. Very good! Well, maybe if the insurance is quick to respond, maybe do it EARLY part of January if you don't want to do it at the end of the year! I got my new insurance card in today! I am excited. Although I am not covered until 1/1/08! I have my first appt. 1/3/08 at 8:15 am!!! I am not wasting any time! I wish you all the best! Charlah
  10. Wow! How did your appt go? You are well on your way! I am so excited for you!
  11. Have either or both of you already had your surgery? I also have MS and my Neuro thought it would be great for me to have this done. I want to know your experiences that you had with the surgery and MS? The Doc. was saying that sometimes with surgeries, it brings on an exacerbation. Did either of you have a new symptom following the surgery? Thanks for your help!
  12. I guess you can kinda say it was first hand. Although I have not had the surgery, my roommate has. I went with her to the seminar in Austin, and to see the nutritonist and just felt like things were very unorganized. I LOVED the staff in San Antonio. Dr. Gonzalez is the one that performed the surgery on my friend. She had her surgery on 11/30 and is doing great! They called her that Saturday to check on her. The staff in Austin didn't even call to check on her. I felt like they should have since this is the facility she will be going to. Let me know how it goes! I think you will like the folks in San Antonio!!!
  13. congratulations Holley! That is awesome that it is so close! Time will fly by! Keep us posted!
  14. My friend went through TrueResults, the staff in Austin are nice, but not organized. The staff in San Antonio were AWESOME and ORGANIZED! One of my docs recommended Southwest Bariatrics, but they are not covered on my insurance. Dr. Ganta is, so I will go through him first and see what I think. I hope you are feeling good since your surgery on 11/30. My friend had hers that day as well. I will let her know that you did, so if she wants she can ask you questions if you are feeling the same things she is, etc. Take Care and thanks for keeping Southwest Bariatrics in the back of my mind. Charlah
  15. I am looking into Dr. Ganta. I am attending one of his seminars Thursday evening. I have really not heard anything bad about him or his staff, it has all been great so that makes me feel good. Wish me luck!
