  1. March 30th here. Day 3 of preop diet. Going to the gym helps - too tired to eat.
  2. I love this thread. I have dealt with this mentality my whole life and grew so weary of being talked down to while being shown plastic food, many stories similar to yours. I'm so happy to have found my surgeon and this group!
  3. Best advice i got was don't try anything new if you go out. Do your testing in the comfort and privacy of your home and bathroom.
  4. I don't even own a scale right now, disappeared in the move. I don't want to stress it, we'll just let dr tell me my preop loss.
  5. Love Australia too. Next time i visit i will be more comfortable in the plane seat!
  6. I had one during endo also. Not standard procedure but not uncommon if they see anything out of spec.
  7. Citrite absorbs better in bariatric surgery patients than carbonate.
  8. I don't want company. I did my last three surgeries on my own, and would rather just nap, walk and heal.
  9. Fun is doing all the things we could never do fat. Food is fuel.
  10. March 30th - First day of diet went great. Preop tests done. Best day at the gym so far. Two shakes then 4oz chicken in 2 cups of salad and tiny sprinkle of dressing. Tracking everything in My Fitness Pal. First step - Whew.
  11. @@LaLa Lady @@MaryC94 We are all in this together. One shake down, going to the gym. It's like we're boarding the plane to our new life.
  12. Day One of preop diet and started with preop tests. Came home and did my shake. Here we go...
  13. I allowed myself a week for a bucket list of food. Mexican was on it. Steak. Greek food. French fries. Wrapping it up today.
  14. @@GelaBela Mine is the 30th. My preop tests are tomorrow and my premeeting is the 19th. I just want to get it done. Not even nervous - today anyway.
  15. Can you add lemon to it, or do crystal light? Make sure you stay hydrated.
  16. If you are in that much pain i would say call your surgeon or go to the ER.
  17. Isopure! Vitamin Shoppe sells single bottles for $4 something - even cheaper. Coconut has an almost weak lemonade taste i love. Not cheap but way more bang for your buck on the protein scale.
  18. @ I finally go March 30th. Start my prediet Monday!
  19. I just moved and was just starting to get to know the corner bar crowd. Now that's done no food or alcohol. Hope i make some friends in my local post surgery group.
  20. @ I have been at it for seven months, collecting samples, kitchen appliances, everything. Attended two different meeting location. I couldn't be more ready that way. Deep breath and counting down.
  21. Look at it this way. Think how freaking awesome you will look and feel on your next birthday, and in better health you'll certainly have more ahead of you than you did before! Ps you didn't say no presents did you? That's just wrong
  22. @@sassycas45 You're going ahead of me!
  23. Be careful with fruit juice. Lots of carbs.
