I had gastroparisis preoperative due to the requirement of narcotic pain meds for chronic pain. The doctor said surgery should help. It didn't.I am on large doses of colace, senna and take a God awful med called lactose. Make sure to hydrate and walk. Also I take benefiber once a day,I put it in my protein shake.

Snacks or no snacks, I'm confused

I have that book also.I have 3 small meals and 3 snacks. Just remember low calorie, low carbs, low sugar and fat. A snack may be a lite and fit Greek yogurt with 1tbsp sunflower seeds. Also snack has to have protein, protein, protein. Protein and fiber help you feel full. I got snack ideas out of the book.

I bought just about every brand of protein they all tasted chalky. I then found Unjury protein I use it with skim milk or even water it taste so good. They have unflavored that mixes well in anything from crystal lite to mashed potatoes.Go to their website they have recipes. I had horrible hair loss and had to increase to 2 shakes again . I am 8 months out 120 lbs lighter. Good luck

    memory foam mattress

I have a memory foam mattress and because I am tall I put it on 4 inch blocks. I am disabled and walk with forearm crutches. After countless back and neck surgeries I learned to roll on to your side and then push up with your arms. It helped post-op .Also lots of pillows help . I have them under my head, behind my back , between your legs and one to splint your stomach . Good Luck

    Post-op day 2 and regretting

Please hang in, it does get better. The first week was so hard I lived on zofran for nausea and pain meds. Everyone is different my Doctor explained to me the fundus upper part of stomach that is removed secreats a hormone that tells you you're Hungry. With this portion gone now you don't really feel hungry . Try to walk to move the gas and sips of sugar free drink . I hated the vitamin water they gave me in the hospital, but I still live on Sobie Apple pear vitamin water. Good Luck .I am 8 months out and lost over 120 lbs.

    Mirena question

It's not unusual for obese woman to have polycystic ovarian syndrome. After weight loss this issue can improve and you will have a change in you're menstrual cycle. Fat stores estrogen.I am a disabled RN and 8 months post sleeve. I have lost well over 120 lbs good luck . Maybe make appointment with GYN.
  10. Dear Lauriep I had my sleeve hysterectomy on 11/7/2014.I have lost well over 120 lbs.I know others with simular results.Remember surgery is a tool, you must maintain compliance with your new eating habits.I realized that this is a life change, find a support group , keep active, and keep communicating.
