  1. Discharged a few hour ago. Coming home to three excited dogs and a family that really wasn't sure how to handle things was rough. A few pot holes later, some liquid Tylenol and a nice long nap I'm doing much better. Trying some minestrone broth and one oz Isopure non flavored Protein. I take it thought he Tylenol counts as
  2. Thank you. Nothing says Breakfast like apple juice (try to avoid since Haven't had fruit juice since August) chix broth and green diet Gelatin. dinner was beef broth w orange gelatin. Lolololol. Where's this Protein I need to start getting in.
  3. Ok. Made it through day zero post op. Felt like I did a bazillion crunches and today maybe just a zillion. "Gas or belly air" hurt my shoulders worse than my belly I think but still manageable on the pain scale. Would've been nice to be warned of that And I finally peed'd again so I get to go home today!!! Looking forward to at least being in my own home. Best of luck and speedy recovery to all you guys!!!

  8. Hi-I don't get it. Scared. If I don't pee soon they are going insert a catheter. I have an IV and have been sipping my fluids. Scared.
  9. Shoulder pain is awful. Day zero post op. RN says cuz filled cavity with air and it rises. Only way to resolve is to burp. Also said Surprised I didn't know to expect. Ugh Otherwise abdomen pain bad but nothing I can't manage. It gas taken me about 15 to write thus post cuz I keep snoozing. ????????????lol
  10. Surgery at 815 this morning. Been upstairs in regular room ssgoing on three hrs. Had a sip or two of ice Chips, broth and apple juice ! Feels like I did a bazillion crunches.

  16. The time has come. Tomorrow is the big day! Trying to figure out what I would like for my final "solid" phase 1 meal.
  17. My post op instructions explicitly say do no eat baby food. Probably too much sugar or something???? Doesn't say why....

  20. Pre op appt today. My nurse practitioners said that getting in the protein and fluids WILL be an all say affair. Lol. Oh my....how is eating and drinking all day the best way to make a positive life change? ????
  21. Well it just got real! Final preop Appt today and final weigh in. On south beach phase 1 until Breakfast day before surgery. Then liquid till midnight. Received my "what to expect" in hospital papers and outlines for liquid, puréed and soft stage diets for post op. Now to start making those "lists". Scared shitless, excited, nervous, everything all rolled up into one. I need a quick drink but not allowed on phase 1 (or at work) Lol. At least I can laugh bout things....

  23. Hello Stephanie. I'm Jenn. My surgery is also scheduled this month on the 19th and I've been a roller coaster of emotion the last couple of weeks. I'm thinking it's pretty normal from what I've been reading and I'm truly normally not this! ☺️ One minute I'm super excited to see myself in six months, a year, etc...and on the other hand I'm nervous as hell. Not so much about the surgery but I've been so used to living my life a certain way and enjoying certain things all of which center around food of course and that's all about to change. Good luck in your journey. Id love to stay in touch as we go through this. Congrats.
